Review: On Novemeber 25, 2013 Valley Air was called to look at our furnace. The furnace was not keeping up with the temperature set on the thermostat. They diagnosed the furnace as needing a a new gas valve. It was $150.00 to come out look at the furnace. Someone came out the next day to install the gas valve and we paid an additional $500.00. Once installed the technician realized the furnace was still shutting itself off and not maintaining the temperature. The furnace was then diagnosed as needing a new heat exchanger and condemned. I was annoyed that this wasn't checked when it first diagnosed since they had just put a new gas valve in a couple years earlier. The technician left the house and I phoned the office immediately. It was the day before Thanksgiving and they said that they wouldn't be able to order anything until the Friday after Thanksgiving. I was traveling with my family the next day, so Friday or even Saturday might of been OK. On Friday they emailed and left a voice mail with the estimate for the new unit. They said they ordered a new unit. They also said they would not be receiving it until the middle of the next week and not able to schedule the work until the following Saturday (11 days after the first visit). I was again annoyed for such a slow turn around when they are in a 24 hour service industry. After researching online, I found that the furnace they ordered didn't fit our house for BTU's. The online calculators recommended 54,000 BTU's, they ordered 100,000 BTU's. I realized they never asked me any questions or even walked through the house to see how many registers, windows, et. we have. I returned the call within the hour on that Friday morning and let them know my concerns about the timing and size of the furnace ordered. I never got a call back.I made an appt with a 2nd company, who could have have a furnace installed by the next day. When we returned home the house smelled of gas. I realized the gas line was never shut off when the furnace was condemned.Desired Settlement: I believe Valley Air put my family in a dangerous situation, without heat and gas leaking into the house for several days. I paid Valley Air a total of $650.00 . I'm looking to get that money back from Valley Air and let it be known of their incompetence and poor business practice.
