After realizing Tom was not honest, and his word meant nothing, I DID indeed require all communication to be in writing
I did not ask the vehicle to be checked, Tom's son took it for a drive the day before, and reported to me by phone all was wellThere was no way the leak, which dripped constantly with motor off, did not present itself simply sitting in the lot, which it had one for approx two months before I purchased itThus, the reason it wasn't sitting on the lot when I arrived, so I could not see the stain
As explained, Mike's was contacted immediately, it was not until he had time to make me an appointment that the real problems were determined, and that VAS had attempted to hide the leak
There was never a phone call or message from VASMy initial two contacts were on their website, therefore I have no copy of it
Mike B*** asked me to ask VAS to call himThat didn't happen
I initially was prepared to fix a leak until Mike determined it was much more than that and an attempt had been made to hide it from a purchaser
Many other issues are also evident, I am not asking for any of thatIt is due to the lousey patch job that a torque convertor needed replacedMike's transmission strongly recommended I take actionThe delay was only due to his time frame of getting me in to his shopMy first visit with him, it was determined that alot more work was going to be needed

This van was purchased on 06/09/2016.  Our first contact after the sale from our customer was on 07/19/2016.  The customer had the vehicle for 40 days before she attempted to contact us.  The customer did not want to speak with us and she would not answer our...

calls.  She wanted the contact to be between us and her mechanic.  She sent us an email to see if we would fix a transmission leak and accused us of concealing it.  We explained to her that due to the age of the vehicle, the high mileage and that the vehicle is sold "As Is" that we wouldn't be able to help.  This is a 1997 Dodge Caravan with 183,000 miles.  It is a 19 year old vehicle, with a purchase price of $1500.00.  The customer knew the reason this van was in our shop because she asked if we would check the A/C.  We did perform a test, and told her the compressor was bad.  She wasn't concerned as she stated that she had a parts van and that she would be able to get it fixed at a later date.  Due to the age of the vehicle we don't feel as though this is something that is our responsibility, some repairs/maintenance should be expected when a vehicle is this old.  We have been in business for 54 years and we do not appreciate her accusations of us taking advantage of her.
