Valley Hospital and Medical Center Reviews (6)

Reviewed patient's account and have determined that adjustment has been submitted for correction and will be posted to her account 8/24/16. The patient will receive a 50.00 refund within the next 5 business days. I left a voicemail for the patient explaining this and I gave her my direct phone...

number if she has any questions or further concerns.

Review: On Mar. 20, 2013 I went to Valley Hospital for wrist surgery. One question asked was "do you get sick after receiving anesthetic". I answered no, haven't had a problem in over 40 years as the doctors know not to give me very much anesthetic. Female employee advised she would put scopolamine patch (for nausea) on "just in case". I very clearly stated to her I didn't need it and did not want it. It was not critical for my out patient surgery and she disregarded my decision and put it on any way. My Medicare and Tricare for Life refused to pay it and they have demanded I pay for something I neither needed, wanted or was necessary for my health. My son went in for a procedure 8 days later, they offered a discount if he pre-paid his co-pay. This showed me they were aware of what is covered and isn't covered in order to be able to calculate his share. It was padding the bill, that if my insurance didn't pay they'd harass me until I did. I don't see why anyone should be forced to pay for something that wasn't necessary, needed or wanted after the patient (me) informed employee not to put it on. It definitely was not medically necessary!Desired Settlement: The charge has been turned over to a collection agency. 20% off the bill was offered by Rockwood Main. I have excellent credit and will not settle for employee doing as she pleases as I have the right to refuse a treatment. If refusing bothered employee, I could have signed a waiver. Its my life & I having to pay for an unnecessary $73 dime sized unneeded patch!! will not settle for my credit rating being tarnished, their mistake, they pay for it, not me. AND THEY LEAVE ME ALONE!

Review: I have been dealing with the spokane valley billing office out of dallas texas. A few months back I received a bill for $795.00. I contacted the billing office in regards to this and was told that they were not sure what was going on and they would research it and get back to me. I never heard back so a few weeks later I called back to check the status of the bill in question. The gentleman I spoke with this time said he was not sure what happend but "it looked like it was going to be taken care of". So a week or so later I called back again to see what the status on the bill was and the gentleman I spoke with said "this bill will be wrote off" and that I did not need to take further action in regards to the bill. After hearing this I was under the impression that the bill had been wrote off as explained to me. A week or two later (last week). I received an invoice for the same bill. When I called to ask why this bill was still active the lady said she was not to sure. I explained to her what was explained to me by the gentleman she said she was not sure why he said that. I asked her to speak with her supervisor about this and she did so. She told me that her or her supervisor would call me back in a couple days after they reviewed the phone call. I never received a call back. So I called back on friday to follow up and the lady I spoke with was extreamly rude and told me I was wrong and was responsible for the bill that earlier I had been told was wrote off. I told her all I wanted to do was speak to a manager because she would not listen to me and she would not get me a supervisor. I tried calling back today to speak to a supervisor but was put on hold for to long so I could not wait. I feel as though I am getting the run aroung and being told conflicting stories.Desired Settlement: I want to hear from a supervisor in regards to the phone conversation in which he told me the bill was being wrote off and an explination as to why the story is changing now and why the supervison has not called me back.

Dear Revdex.com,

My supervisor has spoken to the patient, the patient was given a 20% discount the accounts. Nothing more is due on the accounts. The patient will be receiving a refund on both accounts once the accounts have been reviewed by our credit team.

Thank you,

This is the very worst experience Ive ever had. Waited for 31/2 hours in waiting room and never did get into see a doctor. I wss in severe pain with a possible blockage in my bowel. The woman who took my information was so cold zero compassion and rude to everyone not just me. Other visitors said the same. Awful service zero compassion. Will never go back..my mother works in the medical profession and told me never go tp valley. They are know for being rude and horrible. She will be spreading the word she is a PT who works here un town.

Review: My husband, [redacted] had surgery on July 28.2014 and was released on July 30. When the hospital billed my insurance, [redacted], they put the wrong date of survice on the bill. They put date of service as July 29-July 30. There is an outstanding bill to Anasthesia Associates my insurance won't pay because their date of service is July 28,2014. I have made numerous calls to my insurance company and the hospital to try and get the date changed. My insurance company has also called and pretty much was told we'll get to it when we get to it. As you can see this has been going on quite some time. I made a call today to the hospital and the date has not been changed. The acct number to refer to is [redacted].Desired Settlement: I WANT THEM TO CHANGE THE DATE OF SERVICE AND SEND IT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY........THAT'S ALL

Response:

The date of service has been corrected and we have sent a corrected claim to the insurance company for this patient and are awaiting the processing.

Thanks

Came to valley hospital for the second time this week with severe, unexplained migraines. The migraines have been consistent for a week straight and becoming unbearable. Desperate for answers and scared at same time ,I took myself to the emergency room. That's when I met dr. M[redacted]. He down played my symptoms, refused to do any testing and just tried to offer me pain medicine. After practically begging, did he finally consider my request. I am just appalled at the lack of empathy in this person. I would never recommend this hospital nor go back.
