Master Builders * *** Dr, *** SC Ph 864-*** Office 864-*** Fax 864-*** ***aol.com SENT VIA EMAIL TO: ***@upstatesc.Revdex.com.org February 8, Ms*** *** Revdex.com Upstate South Carolina North
Church Street Suite C Greenville, SC Re: Complaint filed by Ms*** *** Dear Ms***: We are in receipt of yours dated 2/2/2017. Our company did enter into a contract with The *** in August, with the project manager *** ***. The contract was for a x two story addition with the bottom floor being a master bedroom with a closet and master bathroom. The upstairs, (2nd story) was just an open room for supposedly their daughters dance studio. While in the framing stages, the plans changed, several times, for the 2nd story to be divided into bedrooms, closets and a bathroom. This of course costs more in material and labor, when it went from being an open floor plan to basically additional rooms. As you are aware, codes and regulations calls for windows in every room. Mr& Mrs*** went above what was quoted for windows, in that window on second story and windows bottom level to total windows. Also, our quote was for contractor single hung windows, they wanted to upgrade to double hung windows on the top floor, they were advised of the additional costs. Customer does not want to pay additional costs We originally quoted on our proposal for a x addition, not to rebuilt the entire house. Mr& Mrs***, after meetings, never once mentioned siding the entire house. Our estimate was to put vinyl siding on the addition. Never once was we advised that the original house that they are residing in has no heat or air. Our estimate was and is to install HVAC in the addition that has been added, and now since more rooms has been added there is additional cost for duct work into each room as well as vents. Customer does not want to pay additional costs. It’s going to cost just for the addition approximately $8,- $8,for the HVAC, to do the existing home is another $7,- $8, We’ve had to pay additional cost for material, labor, (In rooms that was added after the original contract) plumbing (that was not on the original estimate for the bathroom upstairs) and for the additional roofing (Which we did agree to roof the existing home as it ties into the addition) at our costs We also priced the vinyl siding on the addition as contractor grade vinyl, The *** wants an upgraded vinyl siding, with no additional monies allowedCustomer does not want to pay additional costs Page *** *** (Revdex.com) February 8, As it stands now, we are $10,in the red on this job, The ***’s do not agree for any additional costs to cover things that have been changed or added. We, our company, cannot continue to put out of pocket money into this jobAs with any job, allowances are given toward fixtures. A $allowance was given in the beginning, which was re-negotiated to $1500.00. They have also gone over this allowance Mrs*** is wanting the entire house vinyled, addition plus entire home with HVAC installed, carpet, tile and there is clearly not enough money left in the contract to do this, and customer does not want to pay for additional costs OUR DESIRED SETTLEMENT: A new contract to be written up to cover all upgrades, (to include all materials and labor that has already been furnished) HVAC into existing home, Vinyl on existing home and anything that is added or changed in the future, HVAC or vinyl has NOT been paid for as of this date Also, this complaint must disappear with a follow up from Mrs***. We will not continue out this contract until the above has been handled. As stated previously, we are already $10,in the red, and do have documentation to show and simply cannot or will not continue to front money on this job, and if no negotiations/agreements can be met, then we wish to walk away from this contract The *** project would have only taken two months to complete, however, we’ve got in hand three separate drawings of where there were changes made to the original contract. It is simply not our fault that their daughter is sleeping on a cot, she was doing that prior to the project beginning and also, apparently with no heat or air Hopefully, this answers your complaint. If any additional information is needed please do not hesitate to contact me _________________________________________________ Thank you Derral G*** Master Builders & Contract Services 864-***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
As Mr. G[redacted] signed the attached contract himself in early November 2016, he was well aware of what this project entailed. Upon speaking to his worker last week, we informed him that Mr. G[redacted] or anyone from Master Builders were no longer welcome on our property without first contacting us if they planned to complete the job. However, after learning today of Mr. G[redacted]s past criminal history and pending lawsuits, we do not feel safe having Mr. G[redacted] return to our residence. Therefore, we are seeking other means of restitution through filing claims with the appropriate agencies. We are also focusing our efforts on ensuring other innocent consumers do not find themselves in a similar situation with Mr. G[redacted].
Regards,
[redacted]

Our project manager, who is no longer with us, never told us that  vinyl siding the entire home, or installing the HVAC in the entire home was included in the project, nor was it written on the original contract.  We was unaware of this until one of our workers informed us of this mid-stream.  Ms. [redacted] also told this same employee that she did not want us back on her property, so abandonment of the project can't be claimed.  As stated in our previous response, we are already $10,000.00 in the red on this job, and have documentation to prove same.  Please have your retained legal counsel to contact us and we will be happy to provide documentation.  We're sorry that this cannot be negotiated, however, we cannot continue to finance this project.Regards,Derral G[redacted]Master Builders & Contract Service
