In response to the complaint on 7/7/2015, One of our store clerks took a call from the customers daughter for service. She explained the house was owned by her mother. It was communicated to us the mother was to be billed. He took the information so he could write up the call. After getting off the...
phone he realized there was a discrepancy in the account. Then one of the clerks talked with the customer and explained that there was a bill from 2001 in the system that was not paid for some reason. After that call I talked with the customer on the phone. I believe she had called in. I had been in the field so it was the first I was aware of the situation. I looked in the system to verify what we had found. It shows a bill from 2001 that was partially paid. At that time I didn't have the detail of the invoice because of it's age the detail had been purged from the system. I explained I didn't have the detail at that time. The customer was upset that service had been delayed because of the situation. I attempted to explain that yes we do not continue to work for customers with outstanding bill's but there may be another reason for the situation. The customer mentioned our book keeping wasn't up to par and stated she would just go elsewhere for her service. If the call hadn't ended there I would have finished explaining that I could go back through the paper copies and try to get more information on what the bill was for so we could work through the situation. After investigating I found a copy of the bill. It appears to be for the repair of a furnace. A partial payment was applied. The original bill was for $195.03. There appears to be a payment $69.00 about three months after the bill was issued. The bill was in the customers name at the address the current work was to be done at. We would be glad to discuss this further in order to resolve the issue. [redacted] VP
