Complaint2 Weeks ago I purchased a Refrigerator from Valley Appliance Sales located in West Sprinfield MA it was a GE. The freezer was not working properly it was leaking,sweating,condensation,constantly running, frost built up in freezer.After several calls to the dealer Valley Appliance Sales nobody returned my call but yet they called GE twice very unprofessional. I called GE directly and scheduled an appointment for a tech to come and look at the unit, on Saturday Sept 13th a tech showed up looked at the freezer and said the problem is you have to much food in your freezer!!! the problem continued so I called again at this point I am beyond mad they scheduled another appointment the tech came on Tuesday Sept 16th. He cut wires in the freezer and said to leave it off for 24 hrs, I did what he said to do, on Thursday Sept 18th the unit still has frost. I cant believe how you get treated when you purchase something no one wants to take responsibility, all I want is to have a unit that works properly or my money back,its only 2 weeks old. I lost all my food due to this. I hope someone takes action in this matter ASAP no one should have to go through this ever when purchasing something.Product_Or_Service: GE RefrigeratorDesired SettlementI want a new Refrigerator or my money back ASAP.Business Response The customer's complaint will be in italics and our response will be regular typing.1. The freezer was not working properly, it was leaking, sweating, and frostbuilt up. That is correct. 2. After several calls to the dealer, Valley Appliances Sales, nobody returned my call. Incorrect. We talked to [redacted] from the very beginning of her problem to solve it.3. I called GE direct and scheduled an appointment for a tech to come and look at the unit. Incorrect. Valley Sales called GE and set up an appointment on Sept. 13th Confirmation #XXXXXXXXX. And again Valley Sales called for an appointment on Sept. 16th confirmation #XXXXXXXXX On Sept. 16th, GE tech replaced a defrost thermostat. On Sept. 18th, GE was going to install a motherboard in the refrigerator and customer refused. Customer did not want a replacement refrigerator either. Therefore a full refund was sent to [redacted] on Sept. 22, 2014. GE also supplied [redacted] with a telephone number to report food lost in the freezer. We are sorry for the inconvenience to the customer. It is customary for Major Appliance Manufacturers to require at least 3 service calls before replacing a large appliance.
