Valley Strong Federal Credit Union Reviews (%countItem)

This is our second month as KSFCU members. When we first signed up, we were told we wouldn't get any fees because we signed up for paperless and this account is our only checking account so we would definitely meet all the requirements. Fast forward to our first month, turns out we weren't signed up for paperless and we get hit with a $5 service fee. I reach out to KSFCU and I resolve the issue and once again we shouldn't have to worry about service fees anymore. Now, here we are at the second month and yet again... another $5 service fee. If I have to keep reaching out to you guys every month to have a $5 service fee removed. We will be moving our mortgage loans and checking accounts to another bank.

I have been with kern schools for any years and as of today's date I am definitely not happy , I receive social security disability and my check is electronically deposited into my checking account. I was hospitalized for a month and my bank card and wallet was misplaced . So I called and informed kern schools from the hospital and informed them so my account can be on hold until I am released from the hospital. I was released on Aug 21st and very weak I made my way to kern schools to do an open and close of my account. I was given my new account info and I contacted social security And updated my account info . On previous occasions there has been no problem with my payment making it to my account. Due to social security taking a minimum of 1 to 2 deposits before my bank info is updated. On September 18th I am expecting my payment to be posted and it was not .I contacted kern schools was informed my check was sent back and I would have to wait for them to reissue my payment . I am beside myself I get 804.00 a month and most Bill's. Car payment and grocery shopping is on the date I get paid .I contact a supervisor leo and he states he can see what he can do .It is 1:51 pm and I am nervously sitting here wondering if I will be ever to pay my Bill's and purchase food for my family .This is so unfair it has not even been a month and my check was automatically sent back when I have been a customer for many years. I feel like I am being punished when I have no control over social security disabilitys time frame of updated my bank info .

Kern Schools Federal Credit Union (KSFCU) and its agents refused to provide a break down for mortgage payoff statement. I am told to get a break down of the recording and reconveyance fees from the county myself. KSFCU is forcing me to pay these recording fees in the amount they say will be paid to the county but why can't separate these fees instead of a lump sum amount. It is very clear that the county recording office can't collect fees.
If KSFCU is telling me to find these fees from the county, why can't I do the payments myself and get the recording done while I am doing the inquiry for these fees. KSFCU is refusing to provide a fee break down because its trying to avoid its responsibility of providing me with a "satisfaction of mortgage" statement which is required by California Statute.

My credit card in May of last year with this company was closed without any complete reason as to why. When I logged in to my account to make a payment the account wasn’t available nor was I able to my my payment. I contacted the company they said they would investigate further as they noted I was current and on time with all of my payments. I never received a call back but when I did they said I was behind. I then explained the situation and was told why did I not call to make a payment. Well how could I make a payment if my account was MIA. This went on back and forth. I made various attempts with them to making payment arrangements but they wanted full payment and the previous months I owed. I tried applying for a loan with them to make a payment current this did not work either. Prior to all of this I was receiving letters various letters about a change of address to my credit card account and when I approached them about it they had no explanation other than a system error. I asked them if there was a breach to their system that may have caused my account to close and those letters to be sent and they denied it. One day in October as I banked with them as well I went to withdraw money from my account and the ATM ate my card and spit out a receipt saying my card was reported stolen. Thankfully it was 5:00 pm and they were still open I ran into the building only for the teller to tell me my account was flagged and they would not allow me to have a debit card unless I paid my dues. I explained to the teller that the money in my account is to be drawn and I wanted to close my checking and savings with them as what they did was irrational. She went to speak to her manager and told me she was unable to do so. It was then I told her I felt what they were doing was illegal she then spoke with her manager and I received my money and only closed my checking account but would not close my savings until I payed. I am still being marked to this day on my credit which used to be good. They transferred me to collections but still have been marking me as well as if they have the original loan. I changed my bank to chase and when speaking to my new banker they advised me to contact you. I also have found out one of my friends has gone through the same thing with Kern schools federal credit union and has switched banks also. Can you please help me or advise me? I feel they have been fraudulent and are trying to cover up a major breach that occurred in their system.

I got was pre qualified for an auto loan through kern schools for 72 months at $30,000 and was seeking a truck with a payment of $450 . I asked if it was possible to raise my loan amount to find a truck that was around $32,000 $34,000 so I have room to shop in that price range . My loan officer texted me and told me I was approved for $40,000 at 80 months and because she extended the months the payment was now lower at$435.00 month. With 5.49 % Interst rate at the time I made around $400-$450 at my 2nd job so I was ok with this Payment especially since I mostl likley was not going to use the full $40,000 . I found a truck in Santa Maria for $32,000 sales price at off the lot at $37,000 .Before I purchased the truck the dealer had to ore approve me through their finance institution since kernsxhools is out of the area and they needed a back up loan Incase something happened with my loan . When they ran the numbers they quoted everything at about $550 payment . I was confused at texted and then called my loan officer and she re assured me what she had quoted me was right . I then send her. A screen shot of our conversation where she texted me my rate months and Interest , she then verbally confirmed what she said was on text was correct and go ahead and proceed with the purchase and in the morning her numbers through kern schools will add up. I drove to purchase the truck and signed a no cool down period because I was re assured 3 separate times my rate was correct and I didn’t believe the truck had any physicial issues . Once I had returned back home I received a text in the morning from my loan officer stating that because of the Kelley blue book value of the vehicle the rate was off so the payment was much higher in the 500 area so she insisted I put more money down to lower the payment. I Told her I was confused and that why that was possible that did not make sense for it to be over $100 more than what she quoted and how old Kelley Blue Book would affect anything so much. After I did not except what she was saying she said she needed to speak with her supervisor. Her supervisor later called me leaving a voicemail saying that they had made an error and that she somehow was giving me the wrong prices on the purchase that I made. After much discussion of what was possibly able to be done she said she had spoken to everybody above her and there is nothing that they could do there’s no possible way they could honor the price that they had promised even though I have it in writing several time. They then insisted that I come in and finish the paperwork but I refuse to sign any paperwork unless it reflected what was going to be promised.Because we did not come to an agreement on this this contingency loan kicked in so my payment was even higher than what was said. The branch manager then went out of her way to try to convince the owner of the dealership to get me to return the vehicleAfter I told my loan officer that I’m not signing anything and I need to get a lawyer.Because of my new payment in my distrust for the credit union I was forced to leave my job and go to a different location and work more nights to cover the additional payment of the truck.

The branch manager and loan officer admitted fault several times even in voicemail and when I said I wanted them to honor it especially for my time and trouble becomes they can’t put a price on my time , she then calls me right back and insulting me by saying we are going to give you $500 regardless but we cannot honor the loan and that was the last we spoke

Dear Mr.,

Your correspondence to the Revdex.com dated 4/16/2018 was forwarded and received by Kern Schools Federal Credit Union April 17, 2018. On behalf of the Supervisory Committee for Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, I have conducted a review of your accounts regarding credit reporting of a charge off of Savings and Checking accounts occurring in 2013.

We appreciate hearing from our Members about our products and services and especially about the service we provide. We have reviewed your inquiry finding the following activities on the accounts:

On 9/30/2013 Savings was charged off for $1,186.82 and Checking was charged off for $35.00.

The Savings was paid in full via collection agency on 10/30/2014 and Chex Systems was updated as Paid-In-Full.

The Checking was charged off for $35 however it was not reported to the collection agency but was Paid-In-Full 4/17/18.

Mr. applied for and a new account was opened on 4/16/18.

We have provided updates to remove any negative reports with ChexSystems effective 4/19/18. We appreciate Mr. bringing this issue to our attention. I am also glad we had a chance to speak on the phone and hear about the situation first hand.

We are also pleased to have opened a new account with Mr. and looking forward to providing for his future financial needs. The Credit Union is committed to providing exceptional Member service. If I can provide assistance to you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at or by email at ***.
