Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/09) */
Our building was built in so to say it is an old building is correct With an older building comes ongoing repairs Sometimes the wood on the windows does rot, and when that happens they are replaced We also are required to have yearly
inspections through the state One of the items the state checks are windows, so if the windows were rotted they would have been tagged and needed to be replaced On the ground floor (offices) some of those windows do need to be replaced but that has no affect on the residents
We had a bus for our residents for about years Unfortunately the bus was old and required repairs beyond what the bus was worth Instead we purchased a van All of our residents are able to access this van with the exception of completely wheelchair bound residents Due to this, we have offered to pay for alternate transportation so they can still participate in the activities along with those riding in the company vanThe bus could accommodate passengers, and our van now only accommodates passengers ** we make multiple trips to ensure everyone can participate
Since we have an old building, we use window units in every room, hallways, and living rooms during the cooling season The window units are all cleaned prior to being put in the residents rooms, and cleaned again before being put in storage The filters on these units are also cleaned bi-monthly The window units condensate which can cause the outside of the units that face the outdoor elements to become rusted, etc
Our facility has a brand new elevator that is inspected monthly and there are no reported issues with the elevatorUpon stopping on the desired level, the elevator does have a slight jump when stopping but nothing more than any other elevator
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Some of the stuff is true that is posted as for the windows they are rotted in there rooms and they get told this and when the window ac units are put in the maintenance man sees this and nothing is doneAnd for them saying the ac's are cleaned before they are put in is not true I see it they just take them out of the shed they are in and put them in a room do not spray them out with a garden hose to clean the inside of them outAnd as for the elevator it is not a slight jump it is bigger than that it is a good jumpAnd bi-monthly cleaning of the window ac's is a joke it does not happen I clean my own cause nobody else dose so that is a lieAnd if something like the windows with the lead weights in them and the window is rotted and needs a new one I always here there is no money for that we can not afford that and that was also said about the bus but yet they can get a van which almost cost just as much as some of the buses I found onlineAnd the other thing is that this owner has maybe been to this place times and dose not want to talk to any of the people that live here at least the other owners talked and listen to them it just seems that this man thinks that all that live here are a bunch of dumb *** just because of some of odisabilities and can not think for us and the living and transporting people in wheelchairs with a group all at once and no separate ride for wheelchair users

Our building was built in 1913 so to say it is an old building is correct. With an older building comes ongoing repairs. Sometimes the wood on the windows does rot, and when that happens they are replaced. We also are required to have yearly...

We had a bus for our residents for about 5 years. Unfortunately the bus was old and required repairs beyond what the bus was worth. Instead we purchased a van. All of our residents are able to access this van with the exception of completely wheelchair bound residents. Due to this, we have offered to pay for alternate transportation so they can still participate in the activities along with those riding in the company van. The bus could accommodate 14 passengers, and our van now only accommodates 7 passengers ** we make multiple trips to ensure everyone can participate.

Some of the stuff is true that is posted as for the windows they are rotted in there rooms and they get told this and when the window ac units are put in the maintenance man sees this and nothing is done. And for them saying the ac's are cleaned before they are put in is not true I see it they just take them out of the shed they are in and put them in a room do not spray them out with a garden hose to clean the inside of them out. And as for the elevator it is not a slight jump it is bigger than that it is a good jump. And bi-monthly cleaning of the window ac's is a joke it does not happen I clean my own cause nobody else dose so that is a lie. And if something like the windows with the lead weights in them and the window is rotted and needs a new one I always here there is no money for that we can not afford that and that was also said about the bus but yet they can get a van which almost cost just as much as some of the buses I found online. And the other thing is that this owner has maybe been to this place 5 times and dose not want to talk to any of the people that live here at least the other owners talked and listen to them it just seems that this man thinks that all that live here are a bunch of dumb [redacted] just because of some of owe-er disabilities and can not think for us and the living and transporting people in wheelchairs with a group all at once and no separate ride for wheelchair users.
