In response to the complaint from the new owner of the house on Darby Road, I would like to first explain exactly what I was hired to do. The red flags that the inspector gave on this home were that the sills and exterior molding of the selected windows
were rotten as well as a section of the rake board on the house cornerIn addition to this the EXTERIOR brick mold, which is the trim on the OUTSIDE of those windows, was in need of replacement as wellThese things were the only things we were hired to repair and were the ONLY things the prior homeowner was wiling to pay to have replaced. The windows in the home are the original windows installed in With that being said, these windows and the storm windows aren't in the best of shape and are in dire need of replacement. The storm windows were removed and placed against the houseOne of the windows did in fact fall over and the homeowner was contacted. As the contractor, we were instructed NOT to replace it and NOT to worry about it, to just put the frame into the garage as it was not a window from the house itself that had broken, it belonged in the garage. The rotten molding and sills were removed and replaced with new sills, new brick moldings, they were caulked in and stainless steel hardware was used during installationIn addition to this, free of charge, the removal of and extremely large briar bush on the corner of the house was removed. It did ease the access to one of the windows but the total removal wasn't necessary for the completion of the jobAs far as the interior of the house goes, the blinds mentioned in the complaint were never even removed during this processThey are hung at the TOP of the window and the sill is located at the BOTTOM of the window, therefore the contractor had no need to remove them. The curtains that covered the windows inside the house were taken off the window and draped over the closet door. The interior trim was removed from the windows and put back in the original spot, not being replaced with new trim as that isn't what we were contracted for and the homeowner wasn't required to do for the sale of the house to pass inspection. In addition, the trim isn't paint grade, which means it is stained so no caulking in of holes or repainting was necessaryI would like to finalize with saying that selling a house isn't easy on the seller or the buyer. When inspectors come into a home and flag things for the seller to fix prior to closing, you cant expect them to spend anything above what they need to so the loan will pass throughThis prior owner spent $to have rot repair doneThis cost included all materials and labor to do the job. As a quality and reliable contractor for many years who has served hundreds of satisfied customers, it isn't easy to "patch" a job together, but what we would do to consider a job perfect isn't always what people are willing to spend on itLooking at this job in particular, we would have installed new window units with fresh new trim, but that's not what $getsit gets the rotten sills and molding replaced, and that's exactly what was paid for

Valley View Home Improvement was doing a complete Roof job next to my house were I live, I looked at my Roof and said I think it needs to be replacedI went over to the other house and got the phone number off the Mike C*** truckI called him we talked a few minutes and we made an appointment for the following day between 10:and 12:well he was here at 11:am and we discussed When can you do it and How much it was going to cost He came it on the day that he said he would and he was out in days my property all cleaned upand the price I paid I was below others aroundThank Valley View Home Improvement and owner Mike C***

When we had piping leakage damage our ceiling and floor, Valley View Home Improvement was contracted to make repairs. The replaced portions' fit and finish perfectly matched. We were so impressed with the workmanship that we had Mike and his team finish our basement and reinforce our deck. Our basement looks fabulous!! His pricing was extremely reasonable and the job was completed quickly and professionally.

Review: Completely unprofessional, did an awful job, very disrespectful of the half done job and property surrounding. The clip to hold the blinds on one of the windows being repaired was broken during the job and instead of replacing it,the actual blinds were screwed to the window trim, the curtains and the curtain rod was thrown across the room, now hanging on the closet door and not put back after the window was repaired. A trim piece was broken outside during removal of a damaged piece but again not replaced and just put back with the noticeable damage. Noticeably used pieces were used to replace the damaged ones with many holes from nails, none of the trim pieces matched up and were very off center and crooked. The storm windows were not stored properly by the home improvement team during repair and the glass was broken out of them, yet they refused to take responsibility for such and left the broken glass scattered in the yard and refused to replace them. The whole job was a hack job, none of the mess or damaged pieces from the so called improvements were picked up they were just left for us to clean. Would not recommend this company and would actually strongly deter people from hiring.Desired Settlement: I'd request that either the owner must pay a reputable improvement company to redo the work or reimburse the cost of the labor plus the items he broke in the process of the "improvements" he did.

In response to the complaint from the new owner of the house on Darby Road, I would like to first explain exactly what I was hired to do. The windows in the home are the original windows installed in 1969. With that being said, these windows and the storm windows aren't in the best of shape and are in dire need of replacement. The storm windows were removed and placed against the house. One of the windows did in fact fall over and the homeowner was contacted. When inspectors come into a home and flag things for the seller to fix prior to closing, you cant expect them to spend anything above what they need to so the loan will pass through. This prior owner spent $550.00 to have rot repair done. This cost included all materials and labor to do the job. As a quality and reliable contractor for many years who has served hundreds of satisfied customers, it isn't easy to "patch" a job together, but what we would do to consider a job perfect isn't always what people are willing to spend on it. Looking at this job in particular, we would have installed new window units with fresh new trim, but that's not what $550 gets... it gets the rotten sills and molding replaced, and that's exactly what was paid for.
