Hello, Mr*** claims that the meter jumped to $without him squeezing the nozzle. This meter jump is known as meter creeping and is a common problem (at any gas station) when the hose has been misused or tornI went back and watched the security video of when he attempted to pump
gas and it appears that the customer before him parked his car with the tank cap on the opposite side of the pumpHe then tried to pull the hose over his car and most likely tore the hose and/or damaged the breakaway (metal piece that connects hose to pump). When either of these parts are damaged, vapor leaks and causes exactly what he described - a meter creepThis triggers an alarm inside our office notifying us that there's an issue and a technician is dispatched to come and repair the damaged partBeing that it was 1:AM and I (the manager) was obviously not in the office, did not see the alarm until the next morningAs far his claims that my cashier told him he did not know how to pump, I cannot confirm this to be true as I have faith in my employees to treat every customer fairly and with respectIf he would like his refund I will gladly mail him two quarters. This is a dishonest gas station and customers need to be aware. I have also contacted [redacted]. The attendant was rude and accused me of "not knowing how to pump gas." Also if the manager reviewed the camera as he claimed, he should noticed I am not a Mr.
