it seems Mr*** needs clarification on the work we did in his home and why it took as long as it didWe sincerely apologize if he had a bad experience and would like to help him understand the cause and effectDuring the initial measurement he asked that all floors be replaced because the existing laminate (not wood) was old and water damaged, his wife showed us damage under the sink where the problem originated and asked if we could repair this before asking if we could break their dishwasher so they can claim insurance on it from American Shield; I am sorry we could not help with thisThey asked me to rework the estimate and cut costs on three separate occasions finally agreeing to do the bare minimum (granite, backsplash, tile and carpet), we replaced the old laminate (not wood) moldings as a personal favor in hopes that it would help them sell their houseWe also repaired an area of the bathroom that was never even discussedI will no longer be doing favors to customers, I thank them for the lesson learnedThe initial deposit was not available for the first seven days (7th to 14th) of the contract as his funds were not yet in his account (evidence attached); this caused a delay because we do not make it a practice to float residential renovations as I mentioned to him several timesI have supporting documentation to prove everything including bank account statements attached herewith During the demolition we found that they did not remove vinyl flooring prior to installing 7mm laminate themselves ten years agoI have a piece still at my shopThe tile installed is also 7mm excluding mortarThey requested a reducer instead of a t mold transition between tile and laminate even though this is the incorrect moldingWe asked if he would like to speak to the laminate manufacturer because they have laminate; but instead they took the second opinion of a painter and proceeded to commence a screaming match with the owner who walked away out of respect on several occasions even though Mr*** physically held him by the hands in his house numerous timesMr*** withheld payment for days after completed installations because he did not like the complimentary transition piece not in our contractWe were forced to remind him that a mechanics lean may be placed on the home for non payment at which point selling it would become difficult for himWe have NEVER had to place a mechanics lean on a home, his was the first home we ever had to even mention it toFinally, we normally do not reinstall electrical plate covers on a wet backsplash as the tiles may move, most people replace these the following dayThe screws were not on site but I did advise Mr*** on how to do it, going as far as removing and replacing my own and sending him pictures so that he can see where the screws go after which he installed the majority of them, I had the installer go back to help him with the restI also advised him (at the time the claim was that it was a plumber) on how to reinstall the kitchen faucet when he could notWe did more than what we were hired to do in hopes of assisting Mr*** in the sale of his home and I do hope that works out for them and for the new home owners who will no doubt suffer due to Mr***'s corner cuttingHis contract was signed on July 7th, his works were completed from July 14th to July 20th, payment was received on July 28thA copy of the contract is also attached herewith along with its terms and conditionsI apologize for having to put all if this out there however blatant lies and attempts to discredit out company by this man will no longer be tolerated
