Valu Market Reviews (2)

6/8/17Hello my name [redacted] I am the store manager of the Valumarket [redacted] location .I would like to communicate with you about the problem you have had with some of our produce items.  You can reach me by phone at [redacted] or email to [redacted] I will...

you tell that we have added a second truck from our vendor that we receive some of our exotic produce to try to keep some of the roots and greens fresher for our customers . I look forward to talking to you so that maybe I can have a chance to fix the problem you have had with my store.     Sincerely  [redacted]

On 11/28 of last year a check was written in the amount of $42.40 by Ms. [redacted] to Valumarket. On 12/4 the check was returned by [redacted] for insufficient funds. As is our procedure a form letter was then sent on 12/10 to Ms. [redacted] at the address listed on the check informing her of the...

returned check. The letter states that a $25.00 return fee is required and that we must hear from her within 10 days because on the 11th day the check is then sent to the county Courthouse at which a County Attorney fee of $100.00 is then accessed. Then after a certain amount of time the check is then sent back to the courthouse for a warrant to be issued. The last line on that form letter requests that you bring the letter with you when making payment. Reason being so the desk clerk will know at what stage the process is in, the appropriate amount to collect and whether it has progressed to the stage where payment cannot be taken at the store and must be made at the County courthouse.
Not knowing to whom she spoke to at our service desk, I can only assume that she did not have the letter when trying to pay and the amount could not be verified. No records are kept on site at our store locations and without our loss prevention person being present or the letter being presented the payment amount would not have been taken.
And as for the second attempt at payment it has always been our policy that the only forms of payment accepted for a returned check is either cash or money order. The statement on our form letter referring to the name and phone number suggests that a call be made for additional information at which time Ms. [redacted] would have been informed of our payment acceptance procedures. It is never our intent to make any transaction difficult.
It is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] lives a good distance from the store however this all could have been avoided by calling, presenting our form letter or asking to speak with a manager on duty. As a gesture of appreciation for shopping with us we will waive the service fee and because of the travel distance a money order can always be mailed to the address on the letter for the amount of the check.
                                        ...
                                        ... Sincerely, Valumarket Loss Prevention
