In response to Complaint # ***:1. Pool LightThe installation of the pool light was completed by D & B Pool Services, not the electrician as *** *** claimed in her rejection letter dated 12/21/When the wire broke it was a process of elimination to try and determine why it brokeAs it turned out the break was due to age, no play in the wire and - degree angles in the conduit from the original pool installationThis would not have been discovered unless the concrete was dug upThis pool is very old and any warranty on its installation would have long since endedWhile we sympathize that the repair was not covered by the company that installed the pool, it is not our responsibility to pay for a repair that was due to the original installation of the pool2. Cap/remove *** piping at the filterThe *** line was put in when the pool was installed by ***/*** Pools (not by D&B Pool Services and previously stated by the *** ***) and is piped into the pool wallThe ***’s requested that we remove all of the pipe work related to the ***All of the pipework from the pump to the in-ground pipes had to be cut out and replaced as the *** is part of these pipes.3. Fix deep end skimmerAs previously stated before, we tried to clear the blockage in the skimmer and could not: the ***’s were not charged for any of the several attempts made to clear the blockageAt some point over the years something has been sucked into the skimmer and remains stuckAlso, as stated before we never claimed that replacing the skimmer collars would unstop the skimmerReplacing the collars was done at ***’s request because they were “freshening up” the pool and the collars were broken and cracked.4. Fix the handleThe bolts could not be replaced because the anchors themselves were broken and would not hold the boltsWe left the surface slightly rough but it rained before the concrete was dry and it made the surface even more rough. In conclusion, all repairs except fixing the deep end skimmer were completedAll repairs were discussed and explained by me to *** and he gave his approval prior to any work being doneThere were D&B employees present that witnessed the explanations and ***’s approvalIf we were doing such an unprofessional job as claimed then why did the ***’s continue to call us for other repairs that needed to be done, such as the pump motor and the installation of the pool light when the electrical and concrete work was completed? I have been in business for over years and have never had a complaint filed against the company with the Revdex.comI take pride in all of the work we do and always try satisfy my customersThe ***’s never expressed any dissatisfaction with my work prior to filing this complaintI have offered to discount the bill by $and expect the entire bill to be paid within daysThis is my final response to the complaint filed by *** ***; please feel free to contact me if you need any further information or detailsMy cell phone number is ###-###-####.Regards,David B***Owner

In the spring of **& *** *** asked us to work on their plus year old poolThe scope of work included new handrail anchors, new skimmer collars, new PVC pipe work to the pump and filter, a new pump motor and seals and a new pool lightAll of the work was completed except the
lightThere was no play in the year old underground wire and it broke as we tried to remove the old lightWe informed the ***’s that there was nothing we could do because the break was under the concrete deckIn the spring of they decided to have the deck removed above the light in order to get to the wire to see if the light could be replaced and to also upgrade the electric running to the pump and filter and to run electric to their shedWe met their concrete company at the site to let them know what needed to be dug upWhen the concrete was dug up we went back with a new $light, at that time we spent four hours trying feed the wire back through the conduit for the lightWe finally got it through the back of the light and their electrician hooked up the light to the new electric serviceWe also ordered and dropped off a new diving board gig so they could have the diving board installed in the new concreteAfter the deck work was completed we went back and installed new anchors for the safety coverThe work completed required many trips to this house and we have talked to them several times about the balance dueThey have repeatedly told us that they would be sending payment and none has been forth-comingWe have been very accommodating in trying to work with the ***’s on their balance due but we have not received any payment for any parts, repairs or labor

I am rejecting this response because:I don't think this can be resolved without the assistance of Revdex.com. I have read through all of the information, I don't know what else to say/report.We reported to D&B Pools what we wanted upgraded/repaired and due to years of service trusted them. As I mentioned, I now realize they were giving me the run around concerning the light - as their responses in this Revdex.com case and the letters to ***/*** pools (per their guidance) are quite different. I trusted them, which is why I allowed them back.We absolutely expressed dissatisfaction when we saw the concrete workmanship around the skimmers and new anchors for the handle (see attached pictures) and D&B Pools mentioned the concrete around the anchors for the handles several times in this Revdex.com case (they deliberately left it rough so no one would slip was one answer, it was raining when they did the work which made it worse was another response). When we approached them about this, they agreed they could come back and grind it down, they never did. When D&B Pools showed up about the light when the concrete guy was at our home - we asked when they (D&B Pools) would be back to grind/smooth the concrete? D&B Pools directed us to get our concrete guy to fix it, just as he left the light to be finished by our electrician. The only thing they completed satisfactory was installing a new pool pump and they removed some piping at the filter area for a *** that we no longer used. The problem (which includes these two successfully completed items) is once opening this Revdex.com Case without a bill, the verbal estimate of escalated to over and they charged for foot of new pipe to remove the existing *** piping, that doesn't make sense to me. Also, please see attached internet pricing of the pool pump of less than $they are wanting to charge 450.00+. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to contact me. 301.807.1065. Your time is greatly appreciated. Thank you, *** ***Regards,

Business Response to a Complaint Complaint ID#: [redacted] Company Name: VanGilder Htg. & A/C Company Contact: [redacted] Company Phone: [redacted] Company Email: [redacted] Person Who Sent the Complaint: [redacted] Staff Member: Response: I as owner of VanGilder Htg. & A/C was not aware of this complaint until I received the letter form Revdex.com. This is a supplement to Complaint #[redacted]. On June 15, 2016 my wife had another company to give a quote on replacing the A/C unit. She called and had a visit from [redacted] Heating & Cooling. The technician stated that the capacitor that was placed in our A/C unit by a representative of A....

Van Gilder Heating & Air Conditioning was at least three (3) years old and, other than rust, the unit is in good condition. He replaced the capacitor placed in their by a representative of A. Van Gilder Heating and Air Conditioning, with a new one, and everything works fine. It was pure FRAUD for the representative of A. Van Gilder Heating & Air Conditioning to put an old capacitor and when it stopped working, suggested we contact our insurance company for a new unit. Of course, he was expecting to do the work. The representative from [redacted] Heating & Cooling has provided his name and contact information for the Revdex.com if needed. This was a set up from the very beginning and the fraudulent tactics used by the A. Van Gilder Heating and Air Conditioning representative was illegal and any funds he received for his acts are produced by a fraud. We had to spend an extra night without air conditioning because of the greed of one individual. If the funds cannot be returned in full, $268.00, by this Administrative Action. Then a judicial course of action and contact with the local press may be in order to warn other prospective victims of this man!TranslateDesired Resolution / OutcomeDesired Resolution:RefundselectDesired Outcome:A full refund of $268.00. NO OTHER OFFER WILL BE ACCEPTED.
