Review: Purchased vehicle on Sept 7th, 2013. Discovered the back up light on the drivers side was out and the drivers side seat had 2 tears in the leather. Took vehicle to [redacted] dealership for repair. The seat was repaired, but in the process of them reconnecting the seat the airbag lamp began flashing on car. Also requested that the tail light be replaced. Was told that the tail light was not that simple and it would cost $300.00. Was told to take car to Infiniti dealership to reset airbag light because the Acura airbag system would not read Infiniti. Called S[redacted] and was told that the price to reset airbag light was $79.95 and that it would cost $500 to replace the back up tail lamp.Desired Settlement: Would like for V[redacted]o pay for the repairs of the vehicle for the airbag inspection and light recheck and the replacement of the tail lamp housing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The business did make the promised repairs and the car tail light and air bag are performing fine.

Review: We purchased a vehicle for my daughter and we started have problems the same week. Then after continued repairs, we found out that the car we purchase had been totaled by an insurance company, had a salvage title which was not recorded and the dealership was aware. We have tried to communicate with the dealership and resolve the issue but the dealership never followed through with their letters, refund or replacement of the vehicle as they said they would. Thus we feel that everyone should be alerted to the dealerships practices. The vehicle that the dealership sold us was unsafe and should not have been on the road. My daughter was pregnant and diving the car and we were very concerned about her and baby safety even after the delivery. We understand that the salesman whom sold up the car was fired, but this dealership has 70 dealerships and the salesman on acts upon information and directives giving the company. The hardtop that goes into the truck does not work, the engine light stays, the rear end has loud noise and these problems have remained even after all the dealership, stated they repaired the vehicle. We bought the warranty with vehicle also. The dealership has at different time tired to repaired but the vehicle, but the vehicle still does not work. We bought the warranty and yet they could not fix the vehicle. We took the vehicle to another dealer:[redacted] and tried to get it fixed. They found out for us that the vehicle had a salvage title and they vehicle has no value and that it is unsafe to drive.Desired Settlement: Full refund of the vehicle, since we found out the vehicle had a salvage title and it was never disclosed to us prior to purchasing the vehicle.

We still owe $12,000.00 on the vehicle, we have paid in about 6,000.00 and have had nothing but problems. The vehicle needs to returned, and the money we paid $6,000.00 plus the outstanding balance wiped out. And we want money for our time and trouble another 10,000.00, for all the problems this has caused us.

To Whom It May Concern: I am General Counsel for Van Tuyl Group, Inc., and I am responding to the above-referenced Complaint on behalf of MCVT Motors, Inc. dba Camelback Ford Lincoln Mercury, one of our consulting clients. The dealership has repeatedly engaged [redacted] concerning the issues stated in his correspondence to your office. After repeated requests from [redacted] to come to the dealership with his daughter [redacted], a meeting did occur recently and the dealership offered to re-purchase the vehicle for the amount still owed of approximately $12,000. This offer represents a substantial premium on the vehicle in excess of its current value and in its current condition. The vehicle has been driven approximately 25,000 miles by the customer. The dealership’s offer represents approximately $.08 per mile for the use of the vehicle over the past 2 years. In addition to the discussions with the customer, we are communicating with [redacted] in an effort to determine why a loss was reported some 4 years after an accident that occurred in 2009. Even though the dealership nor the customer were aware of the negative information on the [redacted] until recently, the dealership’s offer to re-purchase the vehicle is not discounted in anyway by the information that is currently on the [redacted] report. The dealership has made every effort to resolve this matter to the customer’s satisfaction. However, to date, the proposed solution has been unsatisfactory and the customer is demanding thousands of dollars in addition to the re-purchase of the vehicle. We will continue to pursue a remedy of the [redacted] report and if necessary we can proceed with arbitration under the arbitration clause in the Purchase Agreement in order to resolve this matter. If you need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact my office. Sincerely yours,[redacted]General Counsel to Van Tuyl Group, Inc.
