Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2016/07/13) */
This is [redacted] Roofing I was hired to install a metal snap lock standing seam commercial panel roof system for this customer. We started this project in October of 2015, and was completed to satisfaction. The customers were very nice and loved...

the roof when completed, even took pics of me and my employees to post on my site. With great reviews! During the winter I explained how the panels will shrink in winter and grow in summer, and that is what standing seam panels do. Not a problem. When I was called from my customer letting me know that there had been a issue,I went and took care of it in the middle of winter. I explained to him, that his structure that he has built out of metal tubing, which is his whole house, not one stick of wood, that it is fighting my panels and the decking. His trusses are on 16 foot center with 2 inch tubing as perlings every 24 inches. I have never installed this system on such a structure, but was confident that it will go as planed, and it did. As I tried to explain to my customer that his structure has to much freedom to do as it wants when it comes time to shrink or grow and in results of this the hole metal building was fighting the panels. As they were trying to shrink in winter the outcome was, twisted screws in the decking from the building's perlings twisting. I ask my customer? Has he ever seen this stucture built like this before, and he said no and would not agree that maybe his building was part of the problem. You can grab his perlings with clamps and twist them with your hands. As I did this in front of him and made a note, that maybe you should restrict them with some kind of bracing to not allow them to have so much freedom. He refused, so as it says in his complaint I stood by my work and came back three times, and two of those times removed the roof plans off the roof and added more screws. So I would not have this problem again. Since there was no cooperation. from the client on his building project. The roof was installed correctly, the decking as he says "was installed wrong", was installed correctly. There are no specs on a building made out of metal like his, so who is to say that the decking was installed wrong. I have been a licensed standing seam metal installer for many years and have never came across such a issue, and as it says in his comments that I made it back to the way it was when completed and check was signed with smiles on everyones faces. When you have to unsnap, snap lock panels, sometime's the panels get little dents in them which is normal. But when we had to do this 3 different times, at owners request, it will not be the same roof as first installed. It will have a few dimple's in it, as it was discussed before. Removal of panels with is the same as installing and that is a job. Like I said, before I stand by my work and made every attempt to fix any problem that he was having. All metal trim was installed correctly, as I have all the pictures to show completion. He says all he wants is a completed roof, but why would anyone sign the last check on completion if it was not completed. Like he said "I completed his roof three time's". I feel I can not ever be finished with this project, as I have already finished a number of times, because he will not expect that maybe the problem lies in his structure, as him and I have discussed. Never once did I not take full blame for what happened. I did everything that was asked of me. Now the reason I have not went back, which there is no reason to go back! Last time I left he was satisfied, and we went back to our lives. Then while I was on vacation, and like anyone else, I do not answer my business phone. When I got back from my vacation my client had left some pretty nasty voice mails and as I confronted him on why he would feel he needed to go that route. That this is a business relationship and needs to stay that way. I asked him if his roof was leaking he said no, and I asked him if anything had blown or came off his roof, he said no! As my warranty, I will fix any leaks or and blown off metal that belongs to the roofing system. As none of that had occurred, then I seen no reason to do anything else to this project. That was completed in October of 2015. I stood by my word and did what he ask for a six month period, till he said he was satisfied. I want all my clients happy with what they purchase and have me install. Thank you [redacted] Roofing.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2016/07/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Mr. [redacted] states that he has completed this roof to my satisfaction several times. That is simply not true. When I handed him the last check ,in October of last year, the roof looked great. Almost immediately though the problems started. Now after three attempts to "fix" these problems the roof is in fairly decent shape. I didn't really want a fairly decent roof, I paid for something a little better than fairly decent, but this is what I have. Yes it has dents, scratches, and wrinkles where it shouldn't, but those things are something I have to live with.
My biggest complaint with [redacted] roofing is the refusal to stand behind their work 100%. I paid $20,000 for a roof that would last a lifetime, and look great for that same period. I got a roof of questionable longevity, that looks mediocre at best.
Instead of all this back and forth I will close with a few facts about this roof. First off the ridge cap is crooked and humped up in spots where it has been removed and reinstalled incorrectly. Secondly several of the seams are coming unsnapped. Lastly, I can stand in the house and look up at the joints in the ridge cap and see daylight shining through the joints because they have no caulk in them. Along with no caulk in the joints there are holes in the ridgecap where rivets used to hold those joints together. The rivets are not present.
This is the type of workmanship you can expect from [redacted] roofing in my experience. If anybody reading this wants to verify anything I have said call me and I will show you first hand what to expect from [redacted] roofing.
