VanCityHD Reviews (%countItem)

He took a $100 deposit and promised to show up on a certain date to do the work, but never showed up. He has not given back the deposit and will not respond to emails or answer his phone. Based on *** reviews, it seems this is common practice for him.

I know I shouldn't have but....I have his card as I have used the business before without any issue. When I booked I asked for a short notice install and Jason G the owner, whose card I had, asked if I could do him a favour, he would give me a returning customer deal of $250 if I etransferred the money so he could pick up the wall mount for install. As a repeat customer I didn't think it would be an issue. I should have checked B&B again like I had when I first hired the company a few years ago. *** He just takes the money and then does not answer any phone calls or texts. I called and texted on the Saturday when he did not arrive at 2:00pm as promised. No answer. I tried again on Sunday with my call display off and he answered, stumbled through an explanation of a day gone bad and said he would be at my house at 1pm. Again, of course, he did not follow up on this promise.
I am out the wall mount unit as it was never delivered and the install as he never showed up.

I hired this company to come in and mount my TV. For the price I paid, he was supposed to hide the cabling of the tv as well. He came in and mounted it, although he mounted it on the wrong side apparently and had to move the tv to the left, leaving three holes in my wall which he promised to sand and smooth on Saturday. He promised to come back to do this as well as hide the cabling because he mentioned he couldn’t do it through the wall and had to install something on top of my wall to hide them. So he was scheduled to come back a few days later, I had to call and message him a few times to confirm. He didn’t show up on Saturday and I haven’t heard from him. My tv wasn’t mounted properly so he was supposed to fix that too, it keeps angling downwards when I try to angle it up. Also the holes he made are larger then the mount and can be seen. It’s really disappointing and now I have to hire a new company to come in and fix what he’s started.

E-Transferred $180 to secure a slot, never showed up to do the TV mounting or returned calls/messages.

Called Jason from VancityHD to request a TV wall mounting service. Like many others that have already complained about Jason and his company, I was asked for an e-transfer deposit of $200 up front to "secure an appointment". I also needed a soundbar mounted and did not have the mount for it, and he offered to pick one up at Visions.ca for me, adding $90 to the deposit. Total of $290. I asked for the invoice to be emailed, which he kept insisting he did but it somehow just "didn't go through". This along with needing a deposit should've been big enough red flags; I guess I learned my lesson...
Couple days before the appointment, I found a competitor with a better price and sent Jason a message to cancel and ask for the deposit back (at no point was there ever a mention of the deposit being non-refundable). He never returned my countless calls, voice and text messages. At the very least he could've replied and said to use his service or no refund of the deposit will be offered.
There are MANY other similar complaints on *** Reviews (which I wish I had checked first) where he didn't even actually show up to the appointments. The select few who he honored the appointment with, showed photos of poor installations ***. And there are even a few painfully obvious *** 5-star reviews mixed in there. I'm sure there are many others who Jason and his company *** money from that did not write a review and chosed to remain silent.
***, VancityHD needs at the very least be shut down completely.

I have previously used this company several years ago and contacted them directly over email ([email protected]). Jason G responded with a quote and asked for payment upfront to guarantee a slot. I paid $200 in advance and since I had dealt with them before was ok with this. After Jason took payment I did not hear back and could not contact them over the phone.

On January 14, 2020, I contacted Vancity HD-TV Mounting as I was looking to have my TV mounted on the wall. I asked for the cost for mount+installation. The next morning (Jan 15), someone that goes by the name of "Jason G" (as per signature) emailed me back *** saying that mount + mounting would cost $150 but that there is a promotion where if you pre-pay via e-transfer you save $30 and total would come to $120. He also mentioned that once I pay, they could be there the same day or whatever time worked best for me. And he added the e-transfer email and a proposed password for the transfer.

After I received that email, I trusted he and his business were legit (based on the website), and I send the money ($120) via e-transfer. And I asked if he could come over and mount the TV that night. He did not get back to me, but I did not suspect anything at that stage. I thought he was busy. The next day, I sent him an email asking if he could come that day. I also gave him my phone number for easier communication. At this stage I also tried calling him on the phone number in the website (604-760-5183) but it said "number unavailable". I then started to suspect that this was a ***. He still got back to me with "Yes, Thursday at 2pm could possibly work. What about Friday. Would Friday at 2pm work for you?". I replied saying that Thursday worked better for me and asking if he could confirm for Thursday. To which he never replied. Then I looked at the company's *** reviews, where I could find a lot of reviews where people were talking about being ***med by this "Jason" person. According to the reviews, this is how he operates. He *** people's trust by asking to pre-pay and never showing up once he receives the e-transfer. There are some reviews that are positive, but those were from many months ago. Based on the reviews, this company was sold last year (2019) and the positive reviews refer to the previous owner. All the negative reviews are from the past few months.

Jason, the only contractor at Vancity HD-TV Mounting was contacted for TV mounting services in Richmond. He quickly responded in early December 2019 and claims that he can help us install the following day for a total of $200. However, he required $100 upfront as deposit to purchase the TV Mount. After e transferring the $100 to his email at *** he does not reply and avoids all contact by phone or email. My partner and I had to pretend to be new customers in order to get a hold of him. The first time, he picked up the call, and we requested when he can come to our place and complete the installation. He indicated that he will check his schedule and get back to us. He did not respond. After 2 days, we pretended to be a new customer and again got a hold of him by phone. We had requested for our money back or further actions will be taken. He said that he will e transfer it back to us to our email later in the evening in Late December 2019. He did not respond or e transfer back to us. Upon reading reviews online, this has happened to many people in the greater Vancouver region (more so for this Christmas in Dec 2019). I would like to officially file a complain against both Jason and his business for intentionally *** people and not providing the TV Mounting services he had promised. We would like to obtain our full $100 back as well as have an investigation on him/ shut down his website to avoid other people from being scammed as this was a stressful situation for us.

I paid $200 via *** for tv wallmounting service. Jason nor anyone else showed up at the arranged time, didn’t call to reschedule, did not respond to my calls, texts, emails. Even the person who referred me to this company tried reaching out on Facebook but there has been zero response. He accepted the *** on December 12th which was the same day he was to provide the tv and sound bar wall mounting.

came to my house to wall mount two tvs. During installation of my 75 inch tv, he caused the tv to fall and by doing so caused damage to the tv, to where it was no longer functional. He promised me that his boss would resolve the issue, it has now been over 7 days, and he is no longer answering my text messages. And now looking on their *** reviews "VanCity HD-***, the company was sold to ***. So he lied to me, and now I am out $3500 for the cost of my tv.

He has many *** reviews, and it was my fault for not reading *** when he is the true owner of the business, and is not proving a proper service.

I ordered a TV remote, August, 2018 and paid in advance.
They have never delivered the product and after repeated calls they say they do not have the money to refund me.
