Gentlemen:I am in receipt of your letter regarding the above complaint. This letter was received by my office while I was on vacation, and the press of critical client needs had to be addressed when I first came home, before I could answer it.
The history of this...

matter is this:**. [redacted] called our office to schedule an appointment. His name was found in our previous client file and he was assigned to one of the preparers who was familiar with the building trades, especially his local. He had been to our office once before, in 2004. He never told the scheduler that he now had a business, which needed 2 years of tax returns prepared. When he came in for the appointment, he told the preparer about the business, and that he would require an amended return for 2012 along with the 2013, in order to reflect the K1 from the business. His preparer, [redacted], explained that he did not do the corporate and partnership returns, but that he would do all of the 2013 personal return and forward the company information to the proper people to be prepared as soon as possible, understanding that it was then the height of tax season, his company was new and we had to do more work to set it up. This was on March 12.
I enclose a statement from [redacted] detailing the dates of contact with **. [redacted], along with copies of emails to and from **. [redacted] regarding this issue. One of our corporate preparers spoke to **. [redacted] that week, in order to get answers to several questions. When **. [redacted] asked for his information back, the 2012 & 2013 returns were, in fact, prepared and his personal 2012 amended and 2013 tax return had been completed, prior to the April 11 deadline set by **. [redacted]. We gave **. [redacted]s information to the courier, but we never got paid for the work we did on 2 complete partnership returns, as well as an amended 2012 and a complete 2013 return. At no time did **. [redacted] speak to me about his concerns.I am really sorry that this happened. We have many long term clients and we have built a very successful business based on word of mouth and customer satisfaction. The fact that we have been in business since 1997, and your letter says you have no information on our company should indicate that we have very satisfied clients, over 5,000 of them. We thought we were accommodating **. [redacted]s complicated situation and I would have done everything I could to fix this, if **. [redacted] had spoken to me. **. [redacted] is a member of one of the building trades unions that we have many clients involved in, so I certainly would want him to be as satisfied as the rest of his union brothers.
**. [redacted] is asking for a refund of the $20. he paid the courier service. He told [redacted] he want the $12.50 he paid the service, when he contacted them. I told [redacted] to have him contact me and I would certainly refund it to him, even though we never got paid for the nearly $1,000. for the tax returns we actually prepared before his April 11 deadline. So, as you can see, the $20. is not a lot of money in the big picture. I just wanted an opportunity to speak to **. [redacted] to try and make things right, but he has neither contacted me nor asked for a refund except through the [redacted] corporate offices and your organization. If you have any further questions, please contact me.

Review: On Wednesday I took a half a day off from work and had a tax appointment. I spent about two hours there. I dropped off my tax information. They explained I was assigned to the wrong agent because he can not prepare corporate taxes etc. He took my info, I dropped off all my paperwork, and was told my returns would be completed in two weeks. I reached out via voice mail and email to find the status of my taxes 3/26. I was simply told they are not done yet. We are focusing on clients who have to pay and they should be done in two weeks. As of Monday April 7, my taxes were no completed. I was given no explanation and no apology. I was frustrated. So Tuesday I took my copies and went to another tax preparer. The next day since I live an hour away I hired a courier to drive up and pick up my incomplete taxes, w2, etc and drop them off at the new place. That day this company had my taxes completed. I was given the brush off, run around, and offered no apology, and no commitment to a completion date by Tyyrell taxes. Since they are a franchise of [redacted] I then proceeded on 04/16 to file a complaint. I wanted time to cool down. Then finally after one week and four agents later they had my complaint documented and then now would reach out to Tyrrell. I am frustrated.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the $20.00 I had to pay the courier to pick up my incomplete taxes that was there a month, an explanation as to why it was not completed, an apology, and for the Revdex.com to document this incident. Maybe others have had the same experience. Also, since they are affiliate with [redacted] I would like to this document they manner in which they handle complaints.
