Terry Varner is a one man operation with one assistant to help him. He does all of his work by hand, you simply tell him where you want the power and he makes it happen. I bought a 2001 KX250 which I wanted to restore to mint condition. After doing some research it became clear that Terry was the best man for the job. I sent him my cylinder, head, piston and rings, V-3 reed block, cases, crank, and crank bearings on 6/3/2020. I had a conversation with him before I sent the parts regarding what I wanted and the time frame he could get it completed by. We agreed on a date taking into consideration it was racing season and that Covid 19 was making it difficult for him to get the parts he needed to do the job. He called me and let me know the rod kit was on backorder, when it arrived on 9/14/20 he called right away to let me know it arrived and he could continue to work on my engine. Throughout this whole time he was texting me pictures of his progress and kept me updated throughout.

I received the parts back in mid January, six and one half months later, within the time frame we had agreed on. The port job was absolutely beautiful! I could not have been more satisfied.

If you want the best port and polish in the country Terry is the best person to send it to.

Once I got the bike together, it is bar none the fastest 250 I have ever ridden. Terry has contacted me since I started riding to make sure I am satisfied with the job he did and he has given me tuning advice being in a different climate and elevation the jetting advice was spot on.

My advice is to go with Terry Varner, you will not be disappointed. The negative reviews he has received were all during the pandemic crises and parts were as hard to get as toilet paper! I still can’t get a pro circuit pipe for this bake and it is on backorder for at least 4 more months.

I sent my Yamaha 1980 Yamaha YZ 250 Motor( serial number***-*** cylinders were engraved with KF 1 and KF2, extra cylinder and piston. to *** at *** Motorsports December 2018.

He was too fully rebuild the motor and port the cylinder to the specs we discussed.

He received a wire transfer of 2000$ on 21/11/18 . Full payment for my motor rebuild.

Mr. has not completed my motor and returned it.

He does not answer my calls. Thought he does answer if I call from a phone he doesn't recognize as me.

I have copies of his texts telling me he'll get the work done and out to me.

Here is his last text sent to me 12/19.4:58pm

"Truth is I got behind and backed up and I let personal issues with my chic impact my business. I realize I screwed up your race schedule but I will not screw you out of your engine or your money. Everyday work is hipping out and the work is spot on. Your YZ is on deck and I deliver on everything we agreed upon."

I have copies of the wire transfer, work to be performed and a years worth of texts.

So far nothing but excuses.

I even called the police department to check and see if his business is open. They called an him and told him to call and resolve things. He didn't.

I do not have my motor completely rebuilt and spares returned from him.

Wire transfer in full was made on 12/11/2018 from my account to his account with the Bank of America, *** St, *** Ca, *** # account ***-***-***, wire transfer number ***--***-***.

I have been more than patient with him.
