Varney Door Company responded to this customer's residence after they requested a service call because their garage door was making a loud popping noise. The experienced service technician arrived at the house and met with the wife. They began troubleshooting the problem she had with the door, but...

the door was not making the noise she called about. The technician checked the operation of the door and it worked properly. The wife made light of the fact that it would not act up since a serviceman was there to check it. We were there 10 — 15 minutes plus our travel time to get to the job. The customer was invoiced for the minimum charge for a service call of $74.20. After receiving the invoice, the husband then called our office and cussed out two of the lady's that work in our office even though they offered to send someone back to his house to recheck the door. After I spoke with the husband and offered to recheck his door, he and I determined the best way to resolve this issue would be that I waive the service call charge and he could find someone else to work at his home. The service call charge was waived. I, as Varney Door Company, always try to do a professional, honest job, and to work with customers to make sure they are happy, satisfied, and that they feel they were given fair value for the work that was preformed. We have thousands of customers that believe we are that kind of company. From time to time, as in this case, there is the type of customer who cusses out ladies, and whose character is such, that they cannot be satisfied. That is where we decide to part ways.
