Have used them before for the same issue a gas valve on a tank less hot water systemless than two years the same issue is happening, I was willing to use them again to fix it again as the issue is how it was installed by the home builder not from the repair they didThe reason I am giving this bad review is that this time for the same repair they tried to over double the price from what it was from the last timeThe part is online for they wanted to charge me plus for shipping because their supply house did not have it in stock I paid the last time they fixed it so them making off the part I guess was not enough and they think making is the right thing to charge ( can we say Price Gouging ) That alone says how they treat repeat customersThen I found a brand new system online for and they said they wanted to install itSo let’s break this amount downLOL I buy the unit for all they have to do is install itIt calls for hours and one person to do it, since it is just a swap of a unit, all the gas pipes and the exhaust and no electrical work required as they are already installedSo they are trying to say that their hourly rate then is an hour, I laughed at this oneIt was also agreed on that this would be just an install with zero warranty, I understood this since I was buying the unit online I know these companies need to make money but let’s be reasonable here folks In short this company had no professionalism and don't care about anything besides over chargingThe rep I spoke to flat out said we don't like it when customer buy their own parts because we make money thereI get that but 250% mark up SO if you want to over pay for work and parts then by all means call them

My furnace was making a noise when the fan went on - the furnace was still working fine I called first thing on a Monday morning and the woman on the phone couldn't be nicer Told me to hang around as I was close and she would see if someone could come out early By when I hadn't heard anything from them I called back and the same nice woman was miserable and could not find my name in their computer! She handed the phone to the service manager who told me that someone would be out between 3- The serviceman arrived around and when I opened the door I said to him "I am glad you are here now because the furnace just turned on and you can hear the noise" and he said to me I think you need a new furnace! I said maybe you could look at it first! He went in my basement removed the cover and told me that it was the fan and he didn't know if they could get a replacement piece because the furnace was from I asked him to see if they could get the part - he called some website up on his phone and then called the service manager at Vastola He asked if they could get the part and I heard the manager say yes and it would be around $The repairman turned to me and said the piece would be $ I told him I heard the service manager say $300?? I paid $for the repairman to walk in the door The next day the service manager called me and said the part was going to be $+ labor to install it because it was not just the motor but the casing around it Said it would take about 1/hour to put the new part in days later he called to tell me the part was in and it was $and it would take an hour to an hour and a half to install it? I asked him why the price kept on going up - he insisted that it hadn't This was the week of Christmas and I asked if they could do anything on the price - he asked me how old I was and told me that he could give me 10% off I have had this company out to my house once before and the serviceman could not have been nicer and fixed the problem and told me he had more time as I had paid for an emergency call and it was an hour - he then cleaned the furnace and my humidifier for me This is the reason I called them this time - due to the honesty of the other employee I was very upset with them this time and went home opened the furnace, got the model number of the motor and googled the piece I got the piece on Amazon for $ My son cleaned and oiled the motor and it no longer is making any noise I now have a replacement part that can be put in - bolts and wires are all that it takes to change it out I will never recommend this company to anyone and I will never call them again I called and wanted to tell Dave the service manager that I got the part for $- the motor and the casement are one piece - but when I called to cancel my appointment he wasn't availableI had a friend who does commercial heating check the furnace and he said the motor is fine - it needed to be cleaned and oiled but to keep the part in case it does go and to never call Vastola again! I feel like they tried to take advantage of me and that is not a good way to do business and I will tell everyone that!

The part is online for 93.00 they wanted to charge me 245.00 plus 20.00 for shipping because their supply house did not have it in stock. I paid 150.00 the last time they fixed it. so them making 50.00 off the part I guess was not enough and they think making 150.00 is the right thing to charge ( can we say Price Gouging ) That alone says how they treat repeat customers. Then I found a brand new system online for 850.00 and they said they wanted 1700.00 to install it. So let’s break this amount down. LOL. I buy the unit for 850.00 all they have to do is install it. It calls for 3 hours and one person to do it, since it is just a swap of a unit, all the gas pipes and the exhaust and no electrical work required as they are already installed. So they are trying to say that their hourly rate then is 566.00 an hour, I laughed at this one. It was also agreed on that this would be just an install with zero warranty, I understood this since I was buying the unit online. I know these companies need to make money but let’s be reasonable here folks. In short this company had no professionalism and don't care about anything besides over charging. The rep I spoke to flat out said we don't like it when customer buy their own parts because we make money there. I get that but 250% mark up. SO if you want to over pay for work and parts then by all means call them.
