Their customer service is terrible and I tried to cancel but wasn't cancelled.
Letter I sent to a ***. I have not received a response yet:

"I was under the presumption that I had cancelled this service back in July. I require a cancellation and a refund.

I was very unhappy with the level of customer service and the lack of assistance and the cost, when it was available, of assistance, when there was an issue with the device. In addition, there were too many issues with the device.

The experience of trying to cancel this service has reached the level of fraud. If I was told, back in July, that I had to send a letter and where to send it to, I would have done so. Now, my mother has been charged again.

Unfortunately, my bad experience doesn't end there. My mother told me last night that she had been charged again. I call today and the first person, a woman, that I spoke with was extremely rude. She refused to give me her name and hung up on me twice. I called back again and got Ms. who was helpful and good enough to give me her name and your email address. I was grateful for that because, after the first woman, who refused her name and hung up, I was thinking this was out-and-out fraud. I suppose the jury is still out on that but I'll see how you respond. Cancel and refund, please."

Desired Outcome

I want the service cancelled and the last charge refunded.

The customer contract was signed in June 2014 for a five year term which is outlined in section D5 of the contract. The account was cancelled once the written notification was received. The customer does not pay for a service plan so any call to repair the system is billable under the terms of the agreement. Section 9 of the terms and conditions states we can charge for the balance of the remaining time on the contract. If the customer refuses to pay the service call fees then it is out of our control if the system does not perform properly. The customer is still responsible for the remainder of the agreement that was charged to her based on the terms. The service has been cancelled and the balance of contract has mailed to the customer. No refund will be given.

This company is gouging and doesn't offer anything to their customers. Their business model is to charge you for no service. I will seek the advice of an attorney, I guess,sin since they refuse.to work with their customers to provide service and only seek to squeeze money from them while providing no good or sercser.

Numerous Requests for cancellation have been ignored.
For the last 2 weeks, I have made not less than 3 requests to Vector Security to cancel my service. During my request, not only did the customer service representative from Vector Security hang up on me, but I discovered that Vector had been monitoring the incorrect address under my account. Meaning my home was never protected for years even though I was paying for the service. Today I received an invoice for a service which I requested to be disconnected, that I no longer want, and that I apparently was never receiving in the first place. There is also no way to cancel service as communication is extremely limited on their site.
I have no contractual agreement with this company.

Mr. account has been cleared and no further balance is owed on the account. Mr. was informed of the process to cancel the contract which is to provide the request in writing with a signature. He refused to send in that notice. The contract was with a company that was purchased by Vector Security and as such is fully assignable under the terms of the agreement so he was technically under contract. With the account being cleared of any balance owed this should resolved the issue with the customer.
