There is no problem powering a 12vdc player from a 12vdc batteryNever said anything about thatNo note was ever sent to me saying that was discouraged because that is stupidJust because a 12v battery is charged by a solar panel makes no difference what so everThe idea here is to not plug something into the wall outletThere are only kind of mpfiles and the instructions do not say anything about special type of mpfiles for this playerI never complained about it not playing an mpsongThe complaint is that when you are playing songs and want to play a previous song to hear it again, it will not do thatNot by the button on the player and not by the button on the remoteThey say they test the player before they send it back to me but it doesn't play the previous song everWhy won't they just fix that problem instead of making up new problems I'm not worried about? I have one of their "repaired" units in my possession that will not play the previous songIt was not tested as stated because IT DOES NOT WORKHopefully there is another testing company (like Consumer Reports) that I can send it to so they can verify it not working and then tell them the same thingAs you can see they keep replacing the PIC microcontroller even though they never have any problems except for the way they are programmedHint HintIf they had tested this unit they would have noticed the excess heat being generated by the voltage regulator and done something about it because the unit is using way too much powerMy first one that I built used 125ma when being used, this one uses 245ma when playingAlso, with a 16gb SD card, the player takes over minutes to start playing the first songThat's insane! Tell you what would work, they send me a player that will play play the previous song when button is pressed (LDlit), uses 125ma when in operation, and starts playing the first song in seconds with a 16gb cardthen I would make doOther than that I want a refundThanks for your time***

Dear, Unfortunately I cannot agree with the customer’s complaint. The customer states: 1) The customer is using a 12VDC battery charged by a solar panel. - When using a solar panel directly connected to the battery, the solar panel can give out up to 17VDC - When using a solar panel with a charge control, the controller puts out 13.4VDC - In both cases this is not suitable for the unit. 2) There are only kind of mpfiles and the instructions do not say anything about special type of mpfiles for this player- On the website and in the manual it says: decodes MP(MPEG & audio layer III (CBR, VBR, ABR), Till 320kbit/sFraunhofer IIS and Thomson licensed3) First one used 125mA and now 245mA- On the website and in the manual it says: power supply 12VDC/1A

-
In the letter that was sent with the unit, the customer disclosed that the unit
was being powered from a solar system
When
the unit was returned to the customer a note was added to discourage this
practice and to use a regulated volt AC to volt DC adapter
-
The customer was also asked about compatibility of the MPfiles he was using
with the Kbut he never responded
