Review: The customer service rep([redacted]) at this company assured me that my belongings would be transported from New York to Georgia in 3 to 5 days (calendar days and not business days). On the contract, it states that any move over 800 miles would take up to 11 days, when I addressed that with [redacted], he said, to disregard that statement and it would on take 3 to 5 days. After my belongings were picked up and I paid half of the delivery cost, I was told by the long distance dispatcher that my property would be delivered in 11 days, I spoke to [redacted] ( a customer service rep) who terminated my call in mid-conversation as I tried to explain to him that, if [redacted] had originally told me that it would take 11 days to get my belongings that I would have used another moving company. I spoke to another dispatcher that told me he did not know when my belongings would be taken to Georgia because they use a consolidation method of transporting in that they wait for several customers to fill up the truck then proceed to make the deliveries (another important fact that I was not told in my initial conversation with customer service, had I been told this fact, I would have used another moving company.)Desired Settlement: I would like my belongings delivered to me in the 3 to 5 days that I was told...

Response:
Dear , Revdex.com
Review: I hired Velocity movers to move my possessions. In the process of the move they pretty much damaged everything they touched besides doing extensive damage to my brand new home that was just built and was being moved into for the first time. These movers were incompetent and unprofessional. I filed a claim to their insurance company and it's a joke with what they responded with. I am filing a claim to take them to court.Desired Settlement: I had to replace items that they destroyed and still have items that need to be fixed. I would like for them to pay for the damages which is more than $10000.

Response:
I submitted papers for court but when looking up the company they were not registered with New York City or New York State. I am looking for compensation for all my property they destroyed. I filed this with the Revdex.com so other people don't get caught up with this company and go through what I went through.

[redacted] Velocity Moving [redacted] December
*, 2013
Thank
you for forwarding this complaint to our attention. We would like to offer the
following response. [redacted] contracted for local moving services which were
provided in full.
We
regret that items may have been damaged while in transit. [redacted] submitted
a claim which was reviewed by a qualified analyst, certified by the American
Moving & Storage Association (AMSA). On the date of service, [redacted]
opted to waive and not pay for the full valuation coverage offered by Velocity
and instead opted to transport his items under the free valuation coverage
provided by the moving company, which limits recovery to $0.30 per pound, per
item claimed. Please note that [redacted] was also provided with information
on third party insurance providers prior to the date of service.
[redacted] was offered a settlement which was consistent with the terms of our
contract/agreement and the level of liability coverage [redacted] chose on the
Bill of Lading. We regret that [redacted] feels the compensation offered is
insufficient, but as he opted to waive the full value protection, [redacted]
is not eligible for or entitled to additional compensation. Thank you.
