I just finished a 2 year contract with this company to help with my debts. They were very professional and answered my questions within a few hours or a day at most. They did all of the negotiations and sent me the results. I wasn't expecting to pay taxes on the amount written off but my expenses at tax time took care of that. For others it may not so beware of this issue and ask your case worker or sales person. The company was able to relieve me of at least 15k quite painlessly. I went this route as I did feel an obligation to try to pay at least a portion of my debt that I owed. The credit card companies refused to lower any interest rates and I had had good rates before the banks went to the Federal Government for help. However I could not keep up with their rate policy and had to ask for help. Consumer Debt Help Association out of Delray, Florida may be able to help you too.
