With regards to complaint number lodged by A** ***, I would like to
answer this dispute officially on the recordI have been travelling outside the country and had no access to my emails or USPS correspondence for nearly three weeksThis period of absence corresponded to the time frame in which your letters were sentFirst off, the complaint had nothing to do with Ventura Dive & Sport as it involved a scuba diving excursion that MrB*** purchased on-line directly with the dive boat operation Raptor Dive Charters for the amount of $Due to poor weather conditions, the trip had to be cancelled as it was deemed unsafe to take the boat outAll the divers who were supposed to be on the trip were given the option of receiving a "rain-check" that could be used at any time in the next months or a refundMrB*** eventually requested a refundI have in my possession documentation proving that the refund was issued through our Credit card processorThe form clearly shows that the refund was captured and approved and this is what I explained to MrB***He insisted that he had not received the refund and became verbally abusive with several members of the WDS staff even though they explained that this was not a dive-center matter, rather that it was a Raptor Dive Charters issueHe sent numerous profanity-laced emails to the staff and was generally very abusiveWhen I contacted him, he said that he was willing to send copies of his credit card statements to prove that he had not received the refund, but he failed to follow through on thisAs a precaution, I contacted my credit card processor and confirmed that the refund had been submittedHowever, in pressing the issue further and asking for a document showing the refund, I was transferred to a different department at the bankIt was then that I learned that the refund had been captured, approved and submitted to the bank for payment to the Berge accountBut I also learned that the refund was rejected due to his account being in a closed statusEvidently, his card was reported missing or stolen and the account was idled for days and could not therefore receive charges or refundsOnce I learned that, even though we had processed the refund request in the fashion, it was ultimately rejected at the final stage; naturally, I re-submitted the request immediately and confirmed that the money had been deposited in MrB***' account the following day Through a telephone conversation and reconfirmed via email, MrB*** apologized for the Crude, accusatory language and thanked me for ensuring that he did indeed get his refundIronically, he even mentioned that he was already planning to join the Raptor for a dive trip in the next couple of monthsThis was just an unfortunate situation that revolved around an account that was temporarily closed and, during that closure time, the transaction was unable to clearAll is now good between Raptor Dive Charters and MrB*** and I regret that it took so much effort to sort out the problemI did ask the credit processor why the business was not notified when the refund payment was originally rejected due to the closed accountTheir response was that they are too busy to track such things and, further, that they don't even try to re-key rejected payments when they discover that an account has been re-openedPlease fell free to call me at if you have any questions or comments regarding this matterRegards,
