the program by assigning each family an assigned time slot; this precautionary measure is done to ensure the success of our compliance of State Regulated child to staff ratios***, *** suggests that VFS change policies to accommodate her occurrenceUnfortunately, there are no clauses in our contract that allows for such variances on late pick up, hence the reason why Venture For Success (VFS) requires signed consent with a clear understanding of the policy, which outlines the policy and fee's associated for late pick upThe policy requires all enrolled families to agree to the late pipolicy (see attachment)
VFS charges $per minute per child (see attachment) in the event a parent/guardian arrives after their assigned time slot***, *** N arrived minutes after her assigned time slot/late, which during the time equaled 5x51=$VFS did not charge the full amount; in fact, VFS discounted her fee by 31% totaling $because of our concern due to the eventAs a result, one staff member remained/stayed after their shift, not to mention after the closing hours of business to ensure the safety of *** *** and the safe arrival of ***, *** NOur goal is to ensure the safety of children until the parent arrives, even if this means overtime for their shift or a call to the local authorities, which is includes Denver Human Services
On June 25th 2015, a frustrated and irate ***, *** N offered to pay the difference of their shift (overriding policy) however, we are governed to uphold State regulations by having all of our staff sign agreements to W-wage withholding; furthermore, this does not take away from a signed and agreed upon legal contractIt is illegal and unethical for VFS to compensate staff's hourly earnings without payroll processing proceduresThis would place VFS in violation of the fair labor standards act (FLSA)State and Federal government must document all compensation paid to staff

I do not accept this response because there was a tornado down the street from my office and unless they expect me to drive into it, I didn't have any other choice but to wait out the stormThere was also massive flooding and delaysMy husband was on his way as well, but he was caught in the flooding and he drives and HHummer and was up to his windows in waterThe University of Colorado (where I work) campus police sent out an email urging everyone to stay in the building until the storm passedIt was completely and utterly unfair and inhumane to charge me for an Act of GodThere should be a clause in their contract that excuses certain circumstancesExand Act of God
