Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/09/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They stipulate that I was referred by a rent to own companyNot how it was introduced, the fact that I was inquiring as a RENT TO OWN interest, they were intro'd as the best way to assist in the RENTTO OWN program, not to just help on credit disputesThey were to supply the lists of places/homes that would work with me/customer in the RENT TO OWN programWhen you go the their supposed sites/links/partners, most are not a RENT TO OWN property or no longer valid/availableIn the mean time you are paying not only the initial $99, you pay $every month after, and no real response/assist on the RENT TO OWNSo it is VERY DECIEVING when you believe your money is going towards a lender/property/landlord whom is to help take you in under the program and find out after going thru the sites/locations THEY RECOMMONED OR INSIST ARE PART OF RENT TO OWNand no resultshaving the credit cleaned up is to help better creditTelling/selling the RENT TO OWN program is false/misleading and almost back to square one even with bad creditI asked several times on new listings/links and 85/90% of those did not even have a RENT TO OWN opening/avail/correct infoVERY DECEIVING!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/17) */
Client called in to cancel out her account on September 3rd, 2015, the same day her account went active with Veracity Credit Consultants. The client did not advise the client that she had sent in an email requesting to cancel the account out on...

September 2nd, 2015. The client sent in the email requesting to cancel out the account after business hours, and had not been distributed to the cancellation department at the time of the call with the cancellation representative. The client sent the email request to a general inbox, nearly four hours after the cancellations department closed for the day. The client had a right of rescission period that did not expire until midnight on September 3rd, 2015, which she met. Therefore the account was canceled out, and the client was issued a full refund.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/28) */
On March 2nd, 2015 this client spoke with a sales representative at Veracity Credit Consultants. The client was speaking with the representative about his interest in enrolling in our credit repair program. In order to set the account up with...

Veracity Credit Consultants, the representative had to pull a credit report to verify we were able to assist him with repairing his credit. The representative set the client up with a six month trial with a credit monitoring company. At the time of setting up the account, the client was informed that it was a six month trial, and if he decided to keep the credit monitoring account, he would have access to the account for only $12.95 a month at the end his trial period.
The client enrolled with Veracity Credit Consultants, and was an active client until they called and cancelled on June 29th, 2015. At the time of the cancellation request, the client only requested to cancel out his credit repair account, and made no mention of cancelling out the credit monitoring site that was set up for him. The six month trial expired on September 2nd, 2015, at which point they were charged a $12.95 monthly fee. The client was emailed fourteen days and five days prior to the trials expiration, in attempts to notify of the trial expiration and preceding charge.
The client called Veracity Credit Consultants on September 2nd, 2015 requesting to cancel out the monitoring site, after being charged the monthly fee. The account was cancelled out for the client that day, allowing him access to the monitoring site until October 1st, 2015. The client requested that the representative refund the $12.95 and was denied the refund, because the charge was not charged by our company and they were given notice to cancel out the trial before being charged. At this point in time, the client disconnected the call stating he was going to call his bank about the charge.
Veracity Credit Consultants has since communicated with the monitoring site, on the clients behalf, requesting that a refund be issued to the client. On September 28th, 2015 the request was granted, and the refund was issued to the client. At this point in time, the client will need to follow up with their financial institution to verify the deposit back into his account.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/17) */
Veracity Credit Consultants was contacted by a rent-to-own company via email on August 13th, 2015, requesting we reach out to this client in regards to his interests in pricing on our programs. A Credit Consultant contacted this client and spoke...

with him about our Select program, informing him that the program would cost a onetime sixty-nine dollar enrollment fee. The client inquired about the monthly cost of the program, and the representative informed him it would be forty-nine dollars a month. Client was informed that it can be twenty to forty-five days before he would see the changes in his credit, to ensure there would be time for a proper investigation. The client then inquired about the rent-to-own program, the representative informed the client the rent-to-own company would compile a list of homes for him, and that he would receive it within three to five business days. The client stated he would think about it and would call the representative back.
Fifteen minutes later, the client left a voicemail requesting the representative to call him back. The representative called the client back to answer the additional questions the client had. The client inquired about it taking six weeks for items to start coming off his credit repair, and the representative informed him he was correct about the time frame. The client inquired about the cost of a rent-to-own home being cheaper than a rental property, and about how he would know if the rent-to-own company would any homes in his area. The representative stated that the programs are usually for lower credit scores and lower incomes, so the rent can be cheaper. The client then stated that he wanted to go forward with the credit repair program. He asked if we would take a look at his credit report and see what we can work on, then it would cost sixty-nine dollars to get started, and then he would get a listing from the rent-to-own company in three to five business days? The representative informed him that he was correct, and that in order to pull up his credit report, there would be a dollar fee to pull the credit report. Client stated he wanted to go ahead and do the program, because he wants to try to be in a new home by September 15th, 2015. Client provided his information to the representative to pull his credit report, reviewed the credit report, and accepted telephone contracts to enroll into the credit repair program.
The client left a voicemail for his credit consultant to give him a return call on August 19th, 2015. His credit consultant called him back, and the client inquired about his rent-to-own listing. The representative informed him that it will be five business days, and that they would be emailed out to him from the rent-to-own company on August 21st, 2015.
Client was contacted on August 23rd, 2015 by Veracity Credit customer service and given a welcome call. He inquired about not receiving the rent-to-own listing, the representative offered to provide the client with the rent-to-own company's phone number. Client was informed that the listings are supplied by the rent-to-own company, and that we are two different companies. During his review of his account, the representative reviewed the enrollment fee and monthly fee with the client. The client stated that he was never informed of a monthly fee, after the review of the call from August 13th, 2015, the client was informed of the monthly fee on the initial sales call. Client requested to speak with a supervisor, the sales supervisor stated that he would call the rent-to-own company to have his listings resent, and would cancel out his account to ensure he is not charged anything other than the enrollment fee.
Due to the account being in an active status, the account could not be canceled by the sales department on August 23rd, 2015. The cancelation was processed the following morning to endure the client would not be charged. Prior to the account being canceled, we submitted twelve disputes on behalf of the client, which are currently being reviewed by the credit bureaus. The client should see the changes in his credit report and/or receive response letters from the credit bureaus within the next two to three weeks. This client was clearly informed that Veracity Credit Consultants is a credit repair company, and that the rent-to-own company would be sending him the listing. As far as the services that we rendered on behalf of this client, and the agreed upon contracts, the client was not issued a refund.
