To whom this may concern, I am writing this in response to a customer statement regarding the transaction between Lexus Carlsbad and *** ***As stated, Mr*** came in to the service department on 7/31/for a battery replacement in his current vehicleWhile waiting for his
vehicle to be completed he went to the New Vehicle showroom and looked at the new Lexus LCAt this time Mr*** had only looked at the vehicleHe did not speak with a sales representative about purchasing the LCwhile in the showroomHe then picked his vehicle up in service and left the dealershipMr*** called the dealership as*** for *** *** (his previous salesperson) at 1:pm on 8/3/to schedule a time to come purchase the vehicleThe call was transferred to ***’s cell phone*** *** was on vacation at this time and did not take or return his callMr*** then called the Lexus Carlsbad main line at 2:57pm and reached *** *** in the dealership call centerMr*** wished to verify the vehicle was still available and wanted to schedule a time (within “about an hour”) to come in and purchase the vehicle*** scheduled an appointment for Mr*** to come in and meet with a product specialist within the hourMr*** arrived at approximately 3:30pm and met with *** *** showed Mr*** the vehicle he was interested inShe went over some of the features and offer him a test drive on different occasionsMr*** declined the test drive times, he said, “he knew this was the vehicle he wanted” He made the statement that this was probably the last vehicle purchase he will ever make and couldn’t stop thin*** about the car since he had seen it a few days beforeAfter *** finished showing Mr*** the vehicle, he then purchased the vehicle(Lexus Carlsbad didn’t have any contact with Mr*** from the time he left the dealership on 7/31/until the time he made the appointment to look at and purchase the vehicle on 8/3/2017.) On 8/19/Lexus Carlsbad was contacted by *** *** requesting assistance in programming Mr***’s garage door*** *** went to Mr***’s home as requested but was unable to complete the programming as the original remote for the garage door opener couldn’t be locatedIt was understood and agreed to that a replacement remote was to be ordered and *** would come back to his home to program at the time the new remote was availableAt the time that Ms*** called (on 8/19/2107) and stated “this car should have never been sold to ***”. Ms*** then began calling me, *** ***, The General Manager at Lexus Carlsbad at various times over the course of the next few daysShe had stated her dissatisfaction with the transaction and wished to discuss resolving her concerns with Mr*** purchasing this vehicleI advised her that we would need Mr***’s authorization to release any personal and transactional information due to privacy laws I offered to meet with both of them at the same time at their convenience, ( offered multiple times) to discuss this and find resolution for Mr***. I *** *** also explained to Ms*** that Lexus Carlsbad does not discriminate against any customer for any reason Mr*** was lucid and completely capable of ma*** his own decisions at the time he purchased the vehicleI asked if she had any written proof that Mr*** was unable to perform this transaction and that she had authority to handle his affairsShe failed to supply me with any written proof. Ms*** also contact Lexus Corporate Customer ServiceThey found that Lexus Carlsbad had sold the vehicle to Mr*** in a standard business fashion without any inconsistency and closed the case without any further action. On 8/22/Mr*** returned to Lexus Carlsbad requesting that we accept his offer to trade in his LCand to repurchase his prior LStrade inHe apologized to *** for Ms***’s behavior and expressed that he felt bad about it We informed him that preceding his request to have his trade returned, Lexus Carlsbad had performed substantial amounts of mechanical reconditioning to meet all of the State of California and Lexus Certification requirements and he acknowledged he understoodMr*** requested the we refund an amount that he felt was fair and we agreed to his termsAt which time we completed all required documentationWe advised him that we needed the LCtitle to release the refund check, and he said he understood. Lexus Carlsbad attempted to follow up with Mr*** on several occasions for an update on the status of the titleOn 9/26/at approximately 12:30pmMr*** came in to Lexus Carlsbad with the title to the LCand requested his checkLexus Carlsbad print a check, once done, it was delivered to Mr***s home at approximately 2:00 by Annabelle LewisThere hasn’t been any contact with Mr*** or Ms*** since that time.
