I am replying to a letter dated Oct12, 2017 in reference to case #[redacted], complainant [redacted]...
[redacted].
I have read the complaint and disagree with the complainants version of events.
Yes it is true I sold a vehicle to this individual in the amount $[redacted] with a 6 month [redacted] powertrain warranty for $[redacted].
I referred the complainant to Auto Persian for an oil change that was free to them, however I was covering the cost of the oil change.
I did not state or imply [redacted] was a certified [redacted] warranty garage nor did I suggest the complainant get a Engine wash & rust check.
I cannot be held responsible for the complainants assumption, whether they be new to Canada or not. I myself am an immigrant to Canada 10 years now.
It is unfortunate that the complainant did make this assumption on their own and did not choose to contact [redacted] or myself to clarify before proceeding with any further services at Auto Persian.
It is not a requirement to receive an oil change at a [redacted] certified garage, however it is a requirement to to have warranty work done at a [redacted] garage.
I have done my due diligence by contacting [redacted] on their behalf and they received $[redacted] paid to them as a result.
[redacted] is a certified New Brunswick garage and I had every confidence that they are doing their job according to the motor vehicle/public safety act of New Brunswick.
However the driver/owner of the vehicle told me that the warning light came on the dash of the vehicle and that they continued to drive the vehicle for days before bringing to a garage the following week.This is when we were notified the engine was blown.
Veritas Motors is not be held liable for this unfortunate event that was caused either by driver/owner or [redacted] whom is a certified garage.
