This consumer's electrical power disconnected for non-payment on 9/27/16.  The total amount past due was $201.73 - this was the July 2016 bill of $105.29 (due date was 8/1/16) and the August 2016 of $96.44 (due date was 9/1/16).  As per our Rules and Regulations with the State of...

Vermont Public Service Board as disconnection notice was mailed on 9/6/16- this notice provided the consumer with their total due, their past due, and what they needed to do (pay, make payment arrangements, etc) on or before 9/19/16 to avoid disconnection of their service on 9/20, 9/21, 9/22, 9/26, or 9/27/2016.  This notice also explains the charges which will be assessed if the power is disconnected and that a security deposit may also be charged to reinstate service.  On 9/15/16 @ 9:37AM our automated phone system made a courtesy call to the phone number on file, urging the consumer to contact our office.  On 9/27/16 we had not received payment or contact from the member so the power was disconnected for non-payment.  The consumer contacted us at 10:53AM on 9/27/16 and we explained that we would need 1/2 of the $201.73 with arrangements and the deposit was waived.  A payment of $101 with arrangements on the balance at 11:09AM - the power was reconnected at 2:10PM same day.The charge for disconnection of power is $55.00 and the power for reconnection of power during normal business hours is $55.00; these fees are approved by the Vermont PSB.  These fees were valid and were billed to this consumer on their next billing statement.The consumer contact me 2 times and left voice-mails. I returned her calls on 10/21/16 @ 8:23AM and again on 11/1/16 @ 12:14PM; both times explaining that these fees were valid and would not be waived AND leaving her my direct phone number and my office hours.
