Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:This is nothing but lies. This is a travesty. He stole 4,000 from us. No way that amount was used on anything. Please show receipts what our money was used on. No one every said a work to any employee EVER no exchanges whatsoever only opened the door and they asked what type of work we wanted done. Very strange boss sent them to a job site and they had no idea what they were to do there? I said I guess you are here to fix the stairs. No other words. They damaged our home that is the bottom line do not care what ethnicity but should have known how to perform the job properly and yes the vehicle should have been marked as commercial vehicle to know who was at our home. Have pictures to prove job was incorrect had rip out redo all stone cost us a fortune. Also, after researching VERO Contracting is not in business 20 years records show business was open couple years ago. All public information. As for phone calls and texts not true either. We were trying to get answers and sent several text messages knew we has been taken advantage of. Should NOT be in business period nothing but scam artist. The owner of the company was not even aware what had occurred what the son did and now no one is taking responsibility. I have texts saying a check was mailed and the owner of the company said we would get our money back. Never received a dime. Any reputable company knows you are supposed to work to resolve any issues with a customer and make them satisfied because it's your reputation on the line. Unethical and these lies will not be tolerated. Never had any intention of doing the work took the cash deposit and ran.

Dear [redacted], Thank you for taking the time to communicate to us why our services did not meet your expectations. We have every desire to address your needs and provide the best solution. To start, please note Vero Contracting, has been in business for over 20 years with a profound...

reputation leading our clients to refer us to friends and family. In fact, we were referred to your home through a mutual friend. We recently decided to expand with advertising and hired a service provider to build a website. It is unfortunate to learn the information posted is not accurate. The issue has been addressed with the web designer. On Sunday, April 19, I did meet with [redacted] with a draft proposal for the desired work to be done outside the home. A business proposal meeting turned from professional to casual the moment [redacted] offered me a beer and began sharing his disappointment in 4 other contractors including his father in law that previously worked on the home and did not meet the family’s expectation. My impression of the client was sincere. He talked about his business and how his word is solid when it comes to his business dealings. Therefore, the rest of the details were agreed by a good old fashion hand shake. [redacted] agreed to work with Vero and offered the cash deposit. I did express to the client how I would not immediately start the work and he said it would not be a problem. I gave him an estimate of 14 days. Due to the nature this lead that was from a trustworthy friend, I reduced the deposit requirement and total work price and accepted his deposit. I never expected the experience to become sour. After meeting with [redacted] and verbally agreeing to the work and start date. I kept receiving phone calls at various and strange hours of the night asking when I will start the work. The behavior was so aggressive I was receiving text messages ranging from 11PM – 2:30AM. (Text messages will be furnished upon request). This disturbed my family. The messages and phone calls woke up my children who had school the next day. To avoid conflict, I did send one of my trusted employees to the work site on Saturday, April 25th to begin. The following Monday more employees worked on the home. After multiple telephone exchanges between [redacted] and I, it was evident the work he was looking for was not what he initially described. As the work progressed, I did send [redacted] pictures and his response was the work was looking very good. However, for precaution, one of employees did question a particular detail to [redacted] It is beyond belief to hear from my employee whom heard and understood completely, the racist and degrading remarks [redacted] screamed over the telephone directing to my employees. She was not satisfied with the ethnicity of my employees and type of vehicle they drove. She even told me – Do you really think this is the Ghetto? This is not Paterson, NJ. The world isn’t perfect but no employee or person should ever be belittled like that. The ethnicity, skin color, or first language of the employees should not have been a factor. I am not responsible for any civil actions my employee will take for the discrimination received on the worksite from the homeowners. On May 4th, [redacted], demanded I visit his home by calling and texting me throughout the day. I was not available during the times he asked me to come over. When I finally did meet with him, his final request was to switch a couple of pieces of stone. I did as he asked, and yet it was not to his satisfaction. The following day, [redacted] decided to let me off the job. Again, we are sorry to hear you are unhappy with our services, but due to the labor and production invested, a refund of the initial deposit cannot be granted. It was discussed with [redacted]. I am not able to control the communication between the household. Last, this negation was between myself and [redacted] should not be held accountable to this event because [redacted]’s job was referred through a mutual friend. Finally, fair warning to all future contractors: have all details in writing to ensure clients to do not accuse you of mishap and members within the household do not have any miscommunication. Thank you.
