Verona at District Heights Reviews (%countItem)

The business, Verona at District Heights, did not properly present information about their visitor parking policy, that resulted in my vehicle being unjustly towed at my own expense of $175. The apartment gives out visitor parking passes and has visitor parking spaces throughout the community. My friend, who is renting at Verona at District Heights had obtained a visitor parking tag. I had placed the visitor parking tag inside my vehicle, clearly visible from the front of the car, and proceeded to park my car in one of the visitor spaces. I had parked my car there in the morning. When I returned later that day, I had found out that the business had my vehicle towed, and charged me the towing expenses. The apartment complex had then claimed, after my vehicle was towed, that visitors with a visitor permit are not allowed to park in visitor parking spaces from 6am to 10pm. There was no signage posted in the parking lots indicating that I had done anything wrong by parking the vehicle, with a visitor tag, in one of the apartments visitor parking spaces during the day. Typically there would be signs posted in or around the parking area indicating there parking restrictions, but the apartment community contains none that contain such information about the visitor parking restrictions. There were no signs indicating "no parking from 6am to 10pm" in the visitor spaces. Also, on the visitor tag itself, there is no printed text regarding the restrictions of the pass. Neither I, nor my friend, were aware that this would cause my vehicle to be towed, because there was no clear information about the parking policy presented. The apartment complex had failed to adequately and properly inform their tenants about the restrictions of the visitor parking policy.

Hello, I have been complaining about the air as you can see for some time now and you all have done nothing to handle this issue effectively. The portable AC which is broken down and does not work has been return for some time now. You have displayed a lack of empathy not only me, but other residence that I have spoken with. There has been times such as recently (Saturday 17th-19th) of me calling the office and being told that someone was going to come check the system out at least once in that time period, but no one showed. That was followed up with me calling the emergency hotline. No one answered or called back. Messages were left. I have been on my machine (asthma) about 3-4 times this week which is unusual, but due to the humidity and the quality of the air in my unit it makes it uneasy for me at time. I sweat profusely as I sit at the time because it is so hot. I can recall even coming into the office sweating profusely to the manager explain the type of condition my unit is in. Which led me to initially getting the broken down portable AC unit.
Upon the last heat wave I had to spend 400$ staying at a hotel that I didn’t not have and was going to rent. It seems as if that is the management main concern getting rent and not assuring that the residence have at least ac during the record setting months of heat. Then have the audacity to push rent paper on door! I have taken pictures of my thermostat which all indicates 90 and over till you can not see the indicator. I have also videos of me sweating profusely explain how harsh these conditions are and what is being told to us such as “There is no issue” (Office). “The pipes are bursting due to the temporary chiller” (Inspector) and other excuses. Clearly legal actions need to be taken! The chiller is clearly not able to provide adequate air to all of the residence hear and the lack of action clearly shows. Maintenance comes out and bleeds the system often and that does nothing!! Not effective! This has been going on all summer!

On July 17, 2019 my vehicle ( 2007 Red *** ) was towed from the parking lot where I reside, by ***. The reason indicated was because there was no parking permit. However, the parking permit I was issued when I signed my lease in August 2018 was absolutely displayed on my windshield. *** expressed that it wasn’t the right parking permit, and that the leasing office changed the permit. I phoned the leasing office so they can inform *** to release my vehicle because I was a tenant and had a parking permit correctly displayed. The leasing office told me I was in violation because I didn’t have the new parking permit. However, the leasing office had not presented anything indicating that my parking permit was no longer valid, or that I needed to update/obtain a new parking permit. I demanded that Verona reimburse me the cost of my expenses to recover my vehicle...at which time I was informed by the assistant property manager that a whole lot of residents had their vehicles towed for the same reason ( which clearly indicates that Verona didn’t make it absolutely clear that current permits were no longer valid ), and that if they reimburse me then they’d have to do the same for all the other tenants.
