Review: Paid $580 for custom made dress for my daughter's prom.Picked up dress3 says before prom dress was damaged. Did not have time to return dress or moneyTo buy another one. My daughter put the dress on the stitchesIn the back and the sides started to come apart. Sent,pic of Dress day of prom. Spoke to owner next day offered me a credit for something else told him no. He apologized said the workers are paid slot of money .told him I wanted at least partial refund dress was poorly made. He said no it's over 48 hours.Desired Settlement: Partial refund.

Who We Are:

Versailles has been in business for over 10 years providing excellent customer service. Our clients vary from everyday woman who wants to look fabulous on their special day to celebrities who need standout on the red carpet or during a performance. Our garments are all special orders. All customers are explained the process of ordering a gown and our story policy. All fittings and alterations are held in store by our experienced staff.

Our Apologies

We apologize if customer, [redacted] was not satisfied with our services. She did called the store 48 hours after the dress was purchased to voice her complaints. She also stated that her daughter did wear the dress that she said was damaged. The store policy was then explained to her. At that point, there was nothing we can do about the dress because it was a special order sale. We do value our customers here at Versailles and offer her a store credit for her troubles but the customer never came in to show us the dress and to receive store credit.

Our policies and procedures are as follows:

all of our clients are completely satisfied with all purchases. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and excellent customer service. Thorough communication is essential throughout every step of the ordering process.

Return Policy:

Due to the special nature of our merchandise, there are no returns or refunds. Every Sale is a final sale. This final sale policy is consistent with industry standards for special occasion apparel. Our story policy is posted behind register and printed on all receipts. Policy reads:

No cash or credit refund Exchange within 7 days All sale items & Layaway

Special orders are final sale

Payment:

Special orders will be processed upon full payment of a minimum 50% deposit. After client is satisfied with final fitting, the balanced is then paid.

Review: 2015 my daughter needed a prom dress. She found Versailles and told me it was a designer for celebrities and so she was excited to get her prom dress there. We went through the process of paying deposit, taking measurements and fittings the night before her prom.

She went to pick up her dress a week prior to the prom as was promised but it was not ready. She was pushed to pick up the night before the prom although they had the order weeks in advance as they requested. I almost fainted when my daughter came home with the dress. The time she came through the door I asked her to show it to me. It was a disaster. It was full of glue that the owner (Mussa) used to glue the stones onto the front. the patches that he glued on were falling off! All the raw edges were exposed around the neck. The zipper was not completely sewn in. None of the edges were sewn in; threads were loose and the dress was a complete mess. It appeared that he just picked up scraps of materials and slapped onto the material and gave the bundle of mess to my daughter to take home!

I called the store immediately so that I could return that same night to address the issue because the prom was several hours away, the next day! The male who answered the phone told me that Mussa has already left the store and I have to wait until tomorrow at 10 am. I explained that the prom was tomorrow afternoon and I can't wait. He insisted that I cannot come there before tomorrow. I explained that I cannot afford to take off from work to come there tomorrow and the dress could not be worn because it was black with white glue all over the front and could not be hidden! Also all the patches are loose with some almost completely fallen off.

I took picture of the horror to show them. I had to settle for going the next day because he said that the store was closing soon.

I had to call in the next morning and take an entire day off from work! When I went there, there were many more distraught customers in the same predicament that I was in! Some crying...and yes, my daughter was crying from the night before because she could not attend her prom with the dress in the current state!

I waited all day for the tailor to change the top of the dress to get rid of the glue. He was able to glue the patches a little more secure.

He was not able to place the zipper to the middle of the dress like a normal dress should be. The patches were still lopsided and uneven. They weren't matching patches for matching sides of the dress! I had to send my daughter home to get dressed except for her dress so we could try to be on time for her limousine!

Of course were late - the last ones to get there; they only waited around for her after much crying and pleading!

I had to encourage her as best as I could so that she would agree to smile amidst the issues that still were evident with the dress.

I called the store continuously for several months to arrange a meeting with Mussa and he was extremely uncooperative. Again, he did not want to meet with me on a Saturday so I had to take another day during the week to speak with him. When I got there, he refused to look at the dress in its current state or the pictures that I took of the original product that he gave to my daughter. I was trying to show him the problems that still existed with the dress even though my daughter had to wear it!

He told me that parents make sacrifices for their children and the fact that I had to take a day off from work to fix some of the issues on the day of the prom is a sacrifice that I made for my daughter! I was shocked and disgusted with his nasty attitude. He had no respect for the customer! I told him that I had already sacrificed $650 when I paid cash for the prom dress!

At one point he said he might consider giving me a store credit which I declined. I could not it good conscience hurt myself like this again. I told him that he would not treat celebrities like this and that we are all customers.

He told me to file whatever complaint or case that I wanted to file against him but he would not give me a refund.

At this time I left the store because he said he cannot discuss anything further with me because he had to leave.

By the way I left and passed by later and he was still there! He lied again to get me out of the store.Desired Settlement: I went back to request at least a partial refund because we did what was possible to fix the dress to the point where my daughter was able to wear it and conceal the major the faults.

I do not want store credit because I am not prepared to torture myself again.
