Mr***,
We can assure you we looked at all images and many
email
correspondences and thoroughly understand the history of your materials
order and flooring project The claim you’re making of poor customer
service from our company saddens us, however we do feel we gave you every bit
of attention we could, including shipping all of the materials ordered
correctly, to the correct address provided, on time as promised, plus included
a 5% military discount. You’ve spoken to of our customer service team,
two of the technical staff, one sales manager and one of the company
executives. All of whom did their best to help you with the placement of
the order, application help & technical tips for your install via our
online install guidesBoth our CSR team, sales staff & managers have
expressed their experience with your abrasive behavior regarding your repeated
threats and the demand for an unwarranted full refundUltimately, we believe
that your expectations of a constantly perfect floor are unrealistic. We
sell millions of square of epoxy flooring each year and our systems are
designed to be hot tire resistant while offering the highest level of moisture
vapor emission protection in the industry due to the wicking technology of our
epoxy. We do not tell customers through
conversations or sales literature that our coatings are scratch proof or that
they will stop the concrete from disintegrating from extreme shock of dropping
an item on it. We did not design our
chemical resistant topcoats to withstand electric toys with extremely hard
plastic wheels that spin on a floor from being able to scratch it. In regards to a dime sized area showing the
concrete from a heavy or jagged object being dropped on it goes, our thin mil
epoxy systems like the one you purchased will not prevent the energy/force of
the dropped item to prevent the concrete underneath from becoming destroyedIn
the photos you submitted it is clear that the concrete has a spall at the area
of direct impact Once the concrete is
damaged in that area the epoxy has nothing to bond to, it is essentially
bonding to dust. To get true impact
resistance from an epoxy floor you need to introduce aggregate and thickness
(mil epoxy mortar or quartz systems) which will absorb the energy before it
transfers to the concrete underneath. As far
as DIY, first time installs go, your floor install looks great! With
proper care, you will have a great shop floor for years to come

What a pleasure working with *** at Versatile Building Products on my epoxy orderFrom the moment I first called she helpfully walked me through my order with numerous questions answered that resulted in my feeling that I was ordering the correct products and amountsIn addition, they provide me free shipping (my order being over a certain amount) and even made me aware of a special that saved me moneyTerrific company!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
It has been stated that I have been "Abrasive" in my attempts to rectify this situationMy behavior is frustration, as I have left more than calls to the technical manager and more than messages for the President and have not been called back to date to discuss the issuesI have only received excuses as of why this is happening,(did not prep surface, no vapor test, wrong product was used, etc.)all of the companies assumptions were addressed with my follow up emailsat this point I was offered replacement product, and/or a dollar refundI asked why only dollars would be refunded and the question was ignored, and I declined
I has also been stated that I am being "unreasonable/ unrealistic with a perfect floor"I am reasonable and am not expecting too much from a 4k dollar floorthe fact that I have 1" diameter spots missing epoxy from my floor does concern meA socket weighing less than an ounce dropping from feet is hardly "extreme shock"
Regarding the Urethane, the companies website lists this product for garage, industrial, retail floors, and states it is designed for " high traffic requirements or food service areas", but cannot stand up to a child's toy with plastic wheels
At this point I would be willing to accept dollars that would cover 1/of my material purchased, along with a portion of my rental fees, as I will have to rent this equipment again in a short time to fix this floor
Again, I want to state my dis-satisfaction in how this company has dealt with this issue, and their continued actions to ignore me
I have not made any "threats" other than sharing my experience and will continue to do so until resolution is metI will begin to post my experience and opinion on open forums, where character limits and pictures can be usedMy phone number is *** and still welcome Mr***, or *** *to call me directly to discuss

We are sorry to hear that the contractor did not honor the work that they performed for their customer. Versatile Building Products (VBP) does not do installations and does not have contractors. VBP manufacturers a range of coatings that contractors use to coat over floors and the
contractors choose which products to buy an use on a jobUsually the contractor provides a warranty to their customer for the work done. VBP has zero control of the people who install the product. The expectation of the manufacturer to be responsible for the work that its customer performs is unrealistic. If that logic were applied, companies like *** ***, *** Paint, etcwould have installation crews to fix any work done with their products regardless of it being installed properly or notor holding the the oil filter company responsible for a new engine when one if its customers does not seal the filter tight enough during an oil changeLastly, we have many customers who customize their coatings and use a portion of products from us and a portion from others and this is more likely when it comes to outdoor coatingsMany of them use locally sourced sand and cement, etcwhich is mixed by them to get their custom mix instead of purchasing the more expensive premixed bags, etcthat we sell. There is a very good chance that this occurred on this customers job since he is having issues with the exterior surface that typically uses one of those polymer cement systems

Excellent service Great products Easy to work with stars!

Versatile Building Products has been my material supplier for years. I have used many material providers throughout the years and I must say that Versatile is top notch. Not only do they have a superior product but their staff is extremely knowledgeable in laying down epoxy. Also I must say [redacted] and [redacted] are very good at helping you with solutions out on the field because they have also been there. If you want a company that has your back Versatile Building Products is the place to go.

Review: I purchased an “industrial” epoxy system 2000 square foot garage. A 4100 Moisture reducing epoxy Primer, 4800 100% solids epoxy base, and 5350

after 7 day cure time, my son started to ride (approx. 10 minutes) his battery powered ATV over the floor and I immediately started noticing scratches in the newly finished floor. After closer inspection I found that these were not superficial scratches and they were completely through the urethane coat and into the base coat.

After noticing the scratches, I called the technical help line and left a few messages and was never contacted back. After a few more days and calls, I finally got ahold of [redacted] (1 of 2 technical representatives) and explained the situation and was told a toy with plastic wheels sliding across the floor will “scratch” the surface, but would not explain why it went through the surface. A few days past and while working on a car, I dropped a 12mm 3/8 drive socket from waist level and when the socket hit the ground, it busted a 1 inch diameter piece of the epoxy coating up. I was amazed how easily this coating failed and tried to be very cautious after this, but then I dropped a lug nut from waist level and again, another ½ piece busted up. . I again called Mr. [redacted] numerous times before reaching him and explained the situation again. This is when things started to go south for me, he started explaining that I did not prep the surface; I probably did not do any vapor test, etc. After he finished, I explained the process and in fact did all the things he suggested I didn’t do and asked me to email him about the issue. I sent him an email with the above procedures, including pictures of the failures and he emailed me back stating that I used the wrong product for my application and what I used would not hold up to any type of impact and I should have used a quartz system. The website and instructions I received from the product I purchased stated that these were used in “service bays, garages"Desired Settlement: Mr. [redacted] agreed to provide me more product to cover the the50 gallons I had already used to mask the issues, but I did not feel comfortable adding more to what was already there, not to include all the additional work of moving everything, prepping again, and waiting another week after was finished. It was then that I was offered a $1500 dollar refund of the original $4100 dollars I spent on this system. I reluctantly declined, as I now had 8 1inch failures on my floor and only expect this to keep happening and having a completely trashed floor. I was told the president of the company [redacted] assist me. I se emailed with explanation of what happened. His response was “I believe that your expectations of a constantly perfect floor are unrealistic and a full or partial refund for materials is unwarranted”. To add insult to injury, I was already offered additional product to fix the floor, or a $1500 refund, Mr. [redacted] said he would only offer me a 5% discount on future orders.

Review: Versatile Building Products is the parent company to Garage Coatings. (http://www.garagecoatings.com/) I had one of their contractors to coat my garage and my patio. The garage coating worked well, but on the patio the material has peeled off the concrete due to improper sealing. I contacted the contractor and they came out the house and resealed a few spots when the whole patio needed resealing. I contacted the contractor again only to find out that he had moved to another company. I made contact with Versatile and explained what had happened and they stated that they would look into it. I was told that they didn't have another contractor in the area. I suggested that send out the new materials to redo the patio and that I would install it. A sales manager agreed to this and send he would ship the materials out. After a number of e-mails asking where the material were it has come to the point where the sales manager is not longer answering me. I have all the e-mails and multiple photos of the patio.Desired Settlement: At one point I was happy to just to receive the materials to redo the patio, but now I would like a refund and the materials to redo the patio considering that I have to remove the old coating and install the new one.

Review: I placed an order for garage cabinets. Versatile Building selected the shipping company. I denied the shipment upon arrival due to the lack of quality in the product- chipped edges with glue all over. Their terms and conditions state that I must inspect the product before accepting possession. I did inspect and denied. I tried to resolve the issue with the company and got nowhere, so I filed a claim with my bank, ([redacted]) to try and get my money back. My claim was denied because Versatile Building approved the product for replacement. After I received the outcome from the bank, I contacted Versatile Building to order the replacement product and began speaking with the President, [redacted]. It seamed like he was unaware of the situation. I sent him all materials, to get him up to speed. That is when he offered me 15% off a new order. What he doesn't understand is that I paid full price for the product made, yet have no product to show for it. The company has the product ordered, (minus 3 pieces) and my money. I feel that I have been patient and given the company ample time to render this situationDesired Settlement: Refund or replacement

I find all the reviews for this company to be very concerning since they have all been made within the last couple weeks. I posted a negative comment regarding an issue I had with them and for some reason it is not showing up on here. Company is very rude and exhibits the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They have posted pictures of the failures I have had with their epoxy flooring on their website without my consent. I have asked them numerous times to remove it as they have told me there is nothing wrong with it. The owner of the company in fact laughed at me today and said he would not take it off his website.

Excellent service. Great products. Easy to work with. 5 stars!
