Review: After depositing a $100 on a potential bike to purchase (deposit in late April), I was told that the bike had to be assembled for me to try out.I am a petite woman and bike fitting is somewhat of a challenge. I was told it would be ready to try out in a week. I was never given any documentation or policy regarding when to completely purchase the bike. I never received a phone call to affirm that it was ready to try out. When I phoned today (July 20)to inquire about the bike, I was lambasted by the owner on the phone. He was verbally aggressive and stated that he sold the bike because I had not picked it up. Again, I never received a phone call even before he sold the bike! He said he didn't have time to be making phone calls to customers to pick up bikes. His tone was totally verbally abusive and unprofessional. Very disrespectful. I had stated that I thought it might be standard for the business to call the customer about these issues, and he went on an aggressive verbal rampage. I have NEVER been treated this way by a business owner before and I am a local resident! I had already purchased my son's bike from this business in March, and planned on being a loyal customer. This phone conversation was completely unsettling. He proceeded to tell me that I must now use my $100.00 deposit on another bike. At this point, I DO NOT want to do business with such a person. I state that I would rather not buy another bike and he says in a very demeaning and cruel tone: "Fine, then, come in and get your money back".I would have gladly paid off the bike had I been informed it was ready or that it was going to be sold. My idea of customer service is called a "courtesy call" so that the customer is informed of the options. Once again, I received NOTHING in writing about a policy regarding limited number of days to complete the purchase. I am outraged that a business owner would treat a customer so poorly after having already purchased ONE bike with the potential of selling at least one more, possibly two.Desired Settlement: I would like my $100.00 deposit refunded immediately. I most likely would have used this deposit to purchase a different bike had I been treated with respect and dignity. I was lambasted from beginnning to end of this conversation.
