Vertical Rock Reviews (1)
Review: I became a member of Vertical Rock in May of 2013. I prepaid my entire membership, making it less of a hassle for myself. In September of 2013, I unexpectedly moved farther down south in Virginia, and wanted to cancel my membership and receive a refund for the prepaid credit I had with Vertical Rock. They have several policies, one of which states that in order to cancel a membership, you must move over 40 miles away from the address on the signed membership contract. They also state a policy that payments are non-refundable and non-transferable (but only for additional services not included in general membership). I politely tried to cancel my contract and receive the money that was owed back to me, but the OWNER of Vertical Rock refused to do either one and was very condescending and rude. After constant e-mailing, trying to receive the funds that are owed to me, and even offering to take a penalty cancellation fee, this owner refused to help me. Then, after I told the owner that I would have a lawyer take a look at the contract, she stopped responding to my questions and concerns. I now am stuck in a contract through 2014 and am short the funds that are owed to me. I will never do business with them again.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the remainder of my credit that is on my Vertical Rock contract (since those charges have not been made yet). I am willing to pay a one-month penalty at the most, because that is the maximum discount that I received for pre-paying the membership in May of 2013.
