Very Conscientious Installations

Review: We paid the flooring contractor ([redacted]) the agreed price of 2,000.00 ($500.00 deposit plus $1,500.00 when we paid off the balance, this well several small things he promised he would complete). He has taken the lath to the door to my office. He has broken the latch with him to repair. He also took the vent for the air conditioner/furnace in the kitchen. We haven’t seen or heard from him since. Also the door in the office can’t be opened or closed because after he put in the new floor covering it was too high. There is also a corner of the baseboard in the kitchen that should be fixed.

I am 93 years old and my wife is 91. To whom it may concern , within reason the info provided by Red is correct. I needed to grind away a major portion of this vent grate , and although the home is probably 50 years old ( re: pocket door latch ) was very old and brittle . I finished the job itself in a timely manner , and the installation of the laminate floor turned out absolutely beautiful :). Unfortunately as my fiance and are facing Breast Cancer and the all time consuming treatments . My daughter totaled the car in a head on collision that placed my car in a a tow yard inaccessable to me until just lately , which these 2 items were in the trunk of this particular car ( May 20,2015) I am working on getting these 2 very minor issues taken care of in the near future . Please forgive me as life came at us hard in the last 6 months. But also there is a mention of the pocket door not closing do to the floor being to high ( which the laminate did raise the foundation floor a little bit ) BUT , I was very clear at the beginning of our agreement and in the contract that I highly suggest he have these pocket doors trimmed a little bit , " His response was that he did not want to spend the money cutting them ) , 2 of the pocket doors cleared the new floor though , and it wasn't until we got to an office pocket door that is fairly close to the newly installed floor . I was very clear from the get go that if he chose to not cut the doors ( which I am not qualified to do this type of labor ) that I will not be responsible for the outcome . And he did agree at the time , but is placing the responsibility upon me for the door issue . Which I cannot accept :(, the other 2 issues I will try to take care of this week . This is in regards to my complaint ID [redacted] against [redacted] doing business under "Very Conscientious Installations" in Lodi.Mr. [redacted] had broken the latch to the door of my office. He took the latch with him and said he'd fix it and install it back. He also took a vent for the air conditioner/furnace from the kitchen. TO cut down and never returned. Several weeks ago he phoned me (after being contracted by your office). He made up a wild story that the parts were in his daughters car and she had totaled out the car & he was unable to get the parts until recently. That was apparently in March - now it is June! Also the door to the office couldn't be closed. [redacted] said the new flooring he installed was to huge. He said the door must be removed and the bottom sawed of and would cost approx $300 more. After waiting over 2 months and no results from our flooring contracts. We called a Carpenter about it - he discovered the [redacted] had used 2" nailes on the baseboards and had driven nailes thru the base boards into the door and he himself had nailed the door so it couldn't close. Also he must have realized the nails were too long and the last 4 of 5 just driven in a little very and then bent over - a very sloppy job for a "conscientious installer - My desire is that [redacted] just complete his job and then forget all about it.I haven't contracted his bonding company yet but that's being considered.Thank you [redacted]
