Review: I called to say that my windshield was cracked and that I wanted to leave it to get done while away for a weeks vacation. They said fine, bring it in. I brought it in, they told me they are getting a shipment of scooters, and do not have the room to hold my scooter. I told them that I called in, and nothing was mentioned about this. We went back and forth and finally the owner told me he would keep it for the week for $30. Today I called to ask if the work was done, it was not, I asked if the part was ordered, it was not. I said, "Forgetting that for a moment, what was the estimate for the work and, please include the $30 for storage." The owner told me, "work is not done and now storage is $43."Desired Settlement: I should never have had to pay any storage charges, and the work should have been done. Now that no work or estimate was done and no parts were ordered, I want to pick up my bike, and have nothing ever to do with this shop again!

Response:
The business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], offered me some concession, and I found the resolution to be satisfactory. Thank you for giving me a place to complain and alert others. I hope this remains visible.
Sincerely,
Business
Response:
We
extend our apologies to [redacted] regarding his frustrations and/or confusion
over our storage policy. Our policy is posted on our wall as a courtesy and
reminder to all our customers. The policy reads as follows: ALL VEHICLES must
be picked up within two days after notification of completion of repairs
otherwise a charge of $35.00 PER DAY will be made for storage.
[redacted] dropped his vehicle at VQ on 07/**/2013 and stated that he was going
out of town. He requested that while he was absent that VQ order and install a
windscreen. As it turns out the windscreen was on back order. After notifying
[redacted] that we would not be capable of delivering the service, he was asked
to retrieve his vehicle. He was charged one day of storage reflective of our policy
though his bike was not retrieved until 08/**/2013. His vehicle remained in our
service department for ten days.
Though we ordered the windscreen, [redacted] has declined to pay for the product
that he requested. The product order cannot be canceled. Unless another
customer needs the same replacement part -we purchased a $303.20 part (after
tax) that we are not requiring payment on, though typically we require payment
in advance of orders.
In the end, he was charged only $32.66 for storage on his bill. The order
(including parts) totaled $335.87. If VQ had charged [redacted] full price at
$35.00 per day the storage alone could have costed $350.00 (plus tax). We value
our customers and regret any confusion. We are also a business that requires
payment for service/s rendered.
