Mrs [redacted] Ford Focus was towed into our facility due to the left front lower control arm failing and braking while the car was being driven Because of this part failure it also damaged the stabilizer link and drive axle on that side of the vehicle No additional labor was charged for replacing the damaged drive axle due to it being almost completely removed during the replacement of the lower control arm and requiring no additional physical labor time Upon the vehicle being assembled it was noted by the technician that the vehicle would not move itself forward or in reverse and a noise was heard Our shop [redacted] *** then contacted the customer's daughter, who he had been communicating with along with Mrs [redacted] , to let her know of the issue He relayed the information to her on the current condition of the car and instructed that they needed to do further investigation of this issue to see if perhaps there was an issue during installation of the axle or if perhaps there was further damage when the lower control arm broke [redacted] did specify that if there was damage to the transmission that there was a possibility it would have to be replaced, but without looking he was unsure Mrs [redacted] daughter then told [redacted] she would need to contact her mother and have her contact our shop Mrs [redacted] contacted the shop shortly after and asked that we save the broken parts because she was going to have the vehicle towed to the used car lot it was recently purchased from A tow price was quoted at $plus tax and towing arrangements were made We were later contacted by Mrs [redacted] and made aware of the issue being the axle not fitting correctly keeping the car from moving We agreed to refund the price of the part for the axle in full including tax for the issue upon Mrs [redacted] returning the part When Mrs [redacted] returned the axle [redacted] refunded the full cost of the part and half the tow amount for the vehicle being towed to the used car lot the vehicle was purchased from I am unsure of the misunderstanding, but I agree that the full tow amount should be reimbursed to Mrs [redacted] and I would be happy to issue a check for that amount of $and mail it to her if that would resolve the issue Upon further inspection of the axle that was installed at our facility it was found that it was either mis-packaged or defective I do apologize for the inconvenience

Mrs*** Ford Focus was towed into our facility due to the left front lower control arm failing and braking while the car was being driven. Because of this part failure it also damaged the stabilizer link and drive axle on that side of the vehicle. No additional labor was charged for replacing the damaged drive axle due to it being almost completely removed during the replacement of the lower control arm and requiring no additional physical labor time. Upon the vehicle being assembled it was noted by the technician that the vehicle would not move itself forward or in reverse and a noise was heard. Our shop *** *** then contacted the customer's daughter, who he had been communicating with along with Mrs***, to let her know of the issue. He relayed the information to her on the current condition of the car and instructed that they needed to do further investigation of this issue to see if perhaps there was an issue during installation of the axle or if perhaps there was further damage when the lower control arm broke. *** did specify that if there was damage to the transmission that there was a possibility it would have to be replaced, but without looking he was unsure. Mrs*** daughter then told *** she would need to contact her mother and have her contact our shop. Mrs*** contacted the shop shortly after and asked that we save the broken parts because she was going to have the vehicle towed to the used car lot it was recently purchased from. A tow price was quoted at $plus tax and towing arrangements were made. We were later contacted by Mrs*** and made aware of the issue being the axle not fitting correctly keeping the car from moving. We agreed to refund the price of the part for the axle in full including tax for the issue upon Mrs*** returning the part. When Mrs*** returned the axle *** refunded the full cost of the part and half the tow amount for the vehicle being towed to the used car lot the vehicle was purchased from. I am unsure of the misunderstanding, but I agree that the full tow amount should be reimbursed to Mrs*** and I would be happy to issue a check for that amount of $and mail it to her if that would resolve the issue. Upon further inspection of the axle that was installed at our facility it was found that it was either mis-packaged or defective. I do apologize for the inconvenience
