Tell us why here...Thank you for the opportunity to answer this complaint.  I am very surprised that [redacted]s upset with us. [redacted] put an offer in on a business that we were hired to market. As with all of our business listings, the sellers are required to sign a document that...

states that the numbers they give us are their (the seller's) representation of their business. Vested Business Brokers is a marketing company.  All buyers are told this and it is represented on the document that they are required to sign when they register with Vested Business Brokers that all buyers are required to sign. (See attached signed document by [redacted] #6) [redacted] asked for the tax returns for further review of the business which we requested from the seller and were sent to us via [redacted] on May [redacted] we sent them to [redacted] via [redacted] the same day (fedex tracking number [redacted]).  Upon receiving the tax returns [redacted] phoned the office and spoke to several people including [redacted] on May [redacted] told me that he requested further P and L statements, I personally phoned the seller [redacted] and requested them and he said he would send them by this coming Monday. Upon returning home on Thursday evening May [redacted] and checking company-mail there was an e-mail which is attached from [redacted] telling us that he did not want to go further with the business transaction.  He spoke to [redacted] this morning May [redacted] in our office who terminated the transaction and sent request for a refund check to accounting.  The check was cut and sent on May [redacted] via [redacted] (tracking number [redacted]). There were many calls made back and forth between myself, my office and [redacted] as well as between [redacted] and [redacted].  There were times that messages were left due to the fact that [redacted] was driving at times and could not always pick up as well as times he phoned our office and we were not available however as reflected in this   I was under the impression that we had a very nice relationship with [redacted] and he was working with myself, [redacted] as well as folks on the Vested staff. It did take the seller longer than we all expected to get [redacted] the tax returns he requested and according to the seller he needed to speak with his partner.  I was on the conference call with the seller and his partner at the time to ensure that I was going to be able to get [redacted] the documents that he requested. I phone [redacted] after that call and told him that as soon as I received the documents I would forward them immediately, which we did.[redacted]'s refund is scheduled for Saturday delivery to [redacted] for Saturday May [redacted].At Vested Business Brokers we are tremendous proponents of due-diligence when a buyer is purchasing a business because as I stated earlier, we are marketers and it is always the seller's representations of the numbers the business is reflecting.  Please see the attached buyer registration that was signed by [redacted].  Working with [redacted] was a pleasure and I am sorry he is upset.  When this e-mail was brought to the attention of [redacted] he was surprised as he and [redacted] just had very pleasant conversation and he has asked us to continue to assist him in finding him the business that is right for him.  [redacted] made no mention of this complaint.Thank you again for the opportunity to respond and if there if is  any other questions that I can answer please let me know and I would be delighted to answer them. [redacted]

Tell us why here...We have spoken with the buyer and have immediately resolved the issue. Vested Business Brokers has been in business for 18 years with over 260 thousand registered buy-side clients and over 3700 business listings for sale. We have successfully closed over 1800 business transactions...

and continue to hold our client’s experiences with us in the highest regard.  The owner herself of Vested called this buyer immediately of learning of the complaint and explained to the buyer that at Vested Business Brokers we take confidentiality very serious on behalf of the businesses that we represent for sale. Sellers appreciate our premium buyer program as it is another security measure for our sellers in verifying who is looking and requesting information about their business. Confidentiality when selling a business is crucial to a seller.  Buyers appreciate the convenience of the streamlined process as well as helping to further understand the mindset of the importance of confidentiality for the seller.  The small transaction is to verify who the person is that is registering and obtaining the physical location of the business for sale, as employees and customers finding out a business is for sale can be detrimental to the business.  All clients have the option to be either a free member or a premium member and may cancel their premium membership at anytime by sending an e-mail to [redacted] and reverting back to a free member at anytime. Upon closing a transaction the fee is refunded to the buyer.  In this particular instance the buyer was charged again a few days after his cancellation e-mail was sent and we are currently looking into whether it was due to a weekend date, regardless it should not have happened.  In the rare occasion that this would occur the buyer is immediately and always refunded. This buyer has now been refunded.  Upon receiving this complaint the owner of Vested immediately phoned the buyer personally and resolved the situation. The owner has received a lovely e-mail back from the buyer. The owner expressed their appreciation for the communication as Vested continues to strive for excellence in customer service and welcomes all suggestions at all times from our clients. This buyer has remained a registered member of Vested Business Brokers and included in his e-mail to the owner of Vested Business Brokers that he would be marking the complaint resolved.  We thank all of our clients for working with Vested Business Brokers and encourage all feedback and suggestions. We have a Contact Us tab on te front end of our website and then an e-mail [redacted] on our site for our clients feed back as we are always on a quest to improve the experience that our clients have with Vested Business Brokers.  Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this situation.

Review: A company called Vested Business Brokers ([redacted])..lists several businesses on their brokerage site for sale. In several cases the financial data of these businesses have been falsified in order to draw interest and generate sales.

Recently a business I wanted to buy (West Point Shell in Annapolis, MD) was listed as selling for 165k and listed as having a gross annual income of 437k. As requested I sent this company a certified check for 5k for the purpose of putting the deal under contract.

Once I got the tax returns on this business (which was very difficult to get)...the tax returns for 2014, 2013, 2012 showed an ending yearly gross revenue of 230k not 437k as listed.

I contacted [redacted] and [redacted] asking them to confer with me but as can be imagined. They are never available to speak to me now.

Before I sent this money I shared my concerned about receiving a refund of my 5k if the deal did not go through. I was assured that my money would be promptly returned as the contract agreement states.

Please advise.

thank you for your time.

[redacted], **Desired Settlement: I want a full refund immediately of the 5k I sent to this company. And I never want to hear their name again.

Review: I put down a 5000.00 GFD for business # [redacted] on May**, 2014. Unfortunately the transaction did not progress. The broker said I would get my refund within 10 business days. Never did get it, I called numerous times, sent emails which I would get responses from their accounting department that it had been mailed. Never did get it. This went on from the beginning of Aug 2014 till I found another business of interest At the end of September 2014. Since I still had not received the deposit, Vested used that deposit for the new business inquire, listing [redacted]. That business also did not work out. October**, 2014 the broker email accounting to refund my 5000 GFD in reference to the two listings above. As of today November**, 2014 I have not received my refund. I leave messages with the broker and no return calls. Emailed the accounting department, no response. The big kicker is they had no record of my original deposit, I had to go through my bank to provide them documented proof that they had received my deposit and cashed it, which I did. This goes back to my original request from the first business inquiry.I have documentation for all of this, every email, copy of deposited check, etc...Desired Settlement: Would like my 5000.00 Good Faith Deposit returned promptly.

Review: This is a business brokerage firm (VBB). They are more than 25 days late in returning my $3000.00 good faith deposit for listing # [redacted].

The Seller notified VBB on 2/**/14 that he was withdrawing from the signed LOE and my broker, [redacted] asked VBB Accounting to refund my $3000 good faith deposit.

I understand that their policy is to process deposit refunds within 10 business days. In my case It has been more than 35 days and to date I have not received my refund check.

Over the past 2-3 weeks I have repeatedly contacted the business to inquire about the status of my refund check. I could never get hold of Accounting "No one was available", and the person answering the call would take my message and contact information telling me someone would get back to me shortly, but to date no one ever did. I have also written several email messages to [redacted] of the company, [redacted], but never received any response from [redacted].

This business has been unresponsive to my repeated calls and never responded to my inquiries.Desired Settlement: Send me a refund check in the amount of $3000.00 for my good faith deposit as per the signed LOI.
