Veteran Movers

I hired Veteran Movers from their Craigslist ad. I was in contact with *** I asked a lot of questions before booking, including several times to email me a quote. The were supposed to arrive at 730 am but didn't show up until 8:15am. I repeatedly called the office and was told a variety of stories about why they were late, including they were waiting for one of their workers who was running late. I was told by *** that a 24' truck would suffice as all we had was a few pieces of furniture and some boxes in the garage. During the move, I found out they came from Green Bay that same morning and I was their only job that day. These guys are not professional movers! I had to instruct them how to pack a truck and I provided my moving blankets. Numerous scratches and damages to my furniture and personal belongings - luckily I took pictures . I was told by *** that the move would take just 2 hours as we had to be to our closing that morning. We had to leave 23 hours later with his crew STILL loading the truck and the new owners of our house not able to move in because they were still there. They finally showed up at our new house around 11 and it took them until 200PM to unload!!! We were charged double what we were quoted all because they took as much time as the could to move everything. *** also proceeded to tell us that things were left behind that could not fit on the truck. He even pulled my husband's 72" TV out of his own truck!!! We were not given an accurate quote, never signed any paperwork and are very upset that we had to pay double. I have all receipts/pictures/texts/phone calls for documentation.

I confirmed with this company over the phone on the rate for my move. I agreed to the quote of $475-$575 based on time. It was a minimum of two hours which would be $475 and maximum of three hours for $575. Anytime in between there would be based on quarter hours at $25. They stated that I could pay 25% more or less depending on the length of the move, the complexity of the move, if there were stairs, and if the door was more than 75 from the truck. My move took two hours and 15 minutes so I should’ve paid $500.
I did not have any stairs, distance issues or timing issues. The main employee who dealt with the payment stated I owed $719. He stated that the base rate was $575 regardless of time and that because I had booked less than a week before my move there was a 25% up charge meaning it was $719. This was never conveyed to me on the phone. This employee then told a ruse of how his father was the one who did my quote and he did the pricing incorrectly because he has dementia. I told him that was not my problem and this is not how business is conducted. They also showed up 30 minutes late from the scheduled time and did not take certain items that they deemed as too fragile even though that was never conveyed to me. I was able to negotiate the pay less than the original $719. I paid $610 which is still $110 over what I should’ve paid. I overpaid because they would not leave my apartment otherwise and they told me I could file a complaint to get reimbursed. The main employee stated that they would be contacting me so I could raise a dispute to get reimbursed. They have not called me and it has been a week. I have tried calling them multiple times and I’ve left multiple messages with no response. This company is completely unprofessional, falsely advertises and scams people.

The were supposed to arrive between 10-11 am but didn't show up until 12:45 pm. I repeatedly called the office and was told a variety of stories about why they were late, including they were going back for a larger truck. When they finally showed up they had a 10' truck (I had asked for a 17' during multiple conversations). During the move, I found out they came from Green Bay that same morning and I was their only job that day. Everything I was told by the office was a tall tale.

These guys are not professional movers! I had to instruct them how to pack a truck and I provided my moving blankets.

The posted prices did reflect what I was charged.

I know, Craigslist. But I can't in good conscientious not report this company.
