Dissapointing
I have read many of the reviews and I am thankful Veterans Aid Counsel was able to assist. I did not have a similar experience, communication is significantly lacking and I received little to no assistance. I eventually took over and began dealing with the VA directly myself.

I cannot thank this agency enough for their timely and compassionate response to my husband's needs. As his wife, I was left in a very hopeless situation with his recent health issues and necessity for long-term care. Stephanie and her staff "listened" to my unbelievable story and guided me every step of the way during the process. She was very reassuring, very positive, and very understanding, and I cannot thank her and her staff enough for all they did and are doing to help my husband and our family. THANK YOU SO MUCH VETERANS BENEFITS AID COUNSEL for all that you do. They are TRUE ANGELS, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing assistance, compassion, and a listening ear in a time of need.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for being there! Words will never be able to fully express my gratitude.

I will never forget telling my Mother In Law that she was finally being awarded Surviving Spouse Benefits after verifying the information from the letter that we had received in the mail with Austin!
I had tried for a year to get help with the VA Offices and sent more emails and spoke to more people than I can remember, and made no progress at all and was totally frustrated and felt I was at a dead end. A friend of mine told me about VBAC and how they had helped them receive benefits and how amazing they were. He was right...
Austin was so compassionate and kind, especially when he was speaking to my elderly Mother In Law and assuring her that he was going to help her and not to worry, even when she was crying. He took so much "weight off my shoulders" Starting with our first conversation and I was so grateful.
It is so emotional losing a loved one and to have financial stress as so how you are going to live day to day and make ends meet. My Mother In Law can finally sleep at night knowing that she is going to be okay.
Thank you doesn't seem enough Austin and Team, but please know we are eternally grateful to you. Stay well and safe and blessings to you always.
Respectfully,
*** and Denise T.

There are no words to describe how thankful I am for the VBAC and their amazing staff - most recently Stephanie and her Supervisor, Austin.
My family have called on the VBAC twice in the last couple of years and both times they came through with flying colors. The first time was for my Pop, a Army retired Vet who spent 23 years serving our country. About 2.5 years ago he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and we were devastated. Things declined quickly and soon we needed to get him in a facility capable of the proper care. About 2 months after my first call to the VBAC, the VA awarded us the appropriate funds and we were able to get my Pop into a wonderful facility. Unfortunately, my Pop passed away last August.
Not too long before he passed, my Mom (82 years old) was diagnosed with cancer and not to long after began to need daily care. I called the VBAC and they were glad to help and worked with us to get her Aid and Attendance claim filed. I am happy to announce that it was awarded and now she has the care she needs.
The VBAC and staff are not only awesome at what they do but they are great human beings that care. THANKS VBAC!

THEY WERE FANTASTIC... I BEGAN RECEIVING HELP ($$$) SHORTLY AFTER MY ENCOUNTER W/ CRYSTAL & HER STAFF... NOW 2 YEARS HAVE PASSED & I'M RECOMMENDING THEM TO OTHERS AS I BECOME ACQUAINTED W/ THEIR NEEDS...

Thank you so much! All of us at VBAC greatly appreciate you and your family.

Words are inadequate to express my very sincere thanks, gratitude, and appreciation to the entire team at Veterans Benefits Aid Counsel - especially Alexandria and Carroll ! My mother, surviving spouse of WWII Veteran, was recently diagnosed with dementia, no longer capable of living on her own, and necessary to be placed in full time memory care. I was shocked, scared, confused, and frantic on how was I going to find the money to give my mother the care she needs and deserves? Prayers answered! I was encouraged to call Veterans Benefits Aid Counsel! Best blessing Mom and I could have ever imagined! They took the time to explain to me Mom was eligible for a survivors benefit to aid us in her care, and I know my Dad is smiling down from heaven!! They have guided me through the application process, have made it so easy, and have given Mom and I peace of mind for her continued care, hopefully for many more years to come! THANK YOU VETERANS BENEFITS AID COUNSEL FOR THE GREAT SERVICE AND LOVE YOU PROVIDE TO OUR VETERANS, THEIR FAMILIES, OUR COUNTRY, AND ALL IN NEED OF HELP IN OBTAINING THEIR BENEFITS!!! BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Thank you so much. All of us at VBAC greatly appreciate you and your family.

I paid for this company to manage my mother's VA Benefits. I have called multiple times to receive an update on these benefits with little response.
I paid for this company to manage my mother's VA Benefits. I have called multiple times to receive an update on these benefits with little response. For the entire month of March, I received no return phone calls for updates. By threatening filing a complaint with Revdex.com, I received a call yesterday however ***, para-legal, states that they had been emailing me at wrong address without return of email. I checked address they were using and received immediate response that the email was not valid. *** assured me that she would call VA to check and call me back that day. I did not receive call yesterday and have tried several times, via email, text and phone to call with no response today. This company is not holding up their end of the agreement by keeping me informed. I have had to chase them down and still I can't get a straight answer. They are full of apologies, but no action .

Desired Outcome

I would like an accountability that they fulfill their end of the contracted service by keeping me informed.

This complaint was posted 4/2/20, Thursday, after I, Crystal, did not call her back that evening after we spoke that day. I called her back the very next day, apologized and explained that I had left early Thursday due to a migraine. I called the VA, gave her the update she was looking for and requested our development supervisor to copy her on an expedite request we submitted for her. She was very happy. I do expect for this complaint to be removed at any time. She was very happy with our firm the last time we had spoken. We are continuously in contact with her now that we all have the correct contact information.

Stephanie and Austin were so helpful getting us monies for my elderly mother's care. I cannot thank them enough for walking me through the process and mounds of paperwork. Mother is the spouse of a deceased veteran and lives on a limited income. She is getting excellent care but her money will run out soon. I cried when we received the judgment from them which meant she is able to remain at the assistant living home where she is staying, I cannot thank them enough. If you need help, please call them. There are angels looking over us!

We retained them to help my mother, who is 86 and destitute, get Aid and Attendance. My father served during the Vietnam War and this qualified her for the benefits. They walked us through the paperwork and estimated she would get the maximum benefit of just under 1,200.00 per month. One year later, she was approved for LESS THAN 600.00 by the VA. This law firm said the VA refused to allow for legal expenses and that they would refile her claim. We have never heard back from then since. We got a letter from the VA, just one month after the VA began paying her benefits, saying that they needed additional information or they would stop all benefit payments to my mother. We scanned the letter and sent all of the information, TEXTED E-MAILED & CALLED NON STOP and to date still have not heard from them. I have resorted to posting on their *** page in hopes of them finally contacting us. For the past year we have experienced nothing but frustration with this law group. They do not return calls, texts or emails without very long delays or not at all, which is what we are experiencing now. Once we paid them, they just stopped contacting us. I cannot believe they got an A rating with the Revdex.com!
