Veterans General Contracting Service Reviews (2)

I contracted Mr *** to repair a bathroom (including plumbing), replace an exterior door, and repair a post by my garageHe has cut tile (purchased by me) improperly rendering it useless and mis used spacers so that the tile must be removed and replaced a seccond timeI had to contract another contractor to fix the plumbing and have asked no less than times to have him complete the other jobs he was hired to doHe has indicated in all instances that he would complete all work but never shown back up to my houseI requested my key be returned on 9/6/and was told by his girlfriend who answered his phone that she didn't have timeI offered to come to her and she hung up on meAt which time a face book post showed up about how the work was stalled because I was hindering it

. Mrs. [redacted] did in deed hire my services in order to remodel her bathroom of the house she is in process of selling. She did provide a deposit for services in the amount of $450.00. This was used to pay the sub contractors who assisted in the process to fix the bathroom, backdoor, and the...

strip of garage she stated was prior damaged. I notifed her that we would be willing to fix the requests and as we made progress we would notify her of the progress and if issues arose she would be notified of these as well as provided solutions or options. The first issue that arose was the plumbing was not even connected to anything in the house and we had prior to hire by mrs [redacted] that we do not do repairs in the form of major plumbing or major electrical. The intial review of the plumbing was it was a simple and manageable repair that is within the legal allowed limitations of any handyman, subcontractor, ect. She agreed and she said she would hire a friend who was a plumber to come and repair the plumbing so as to allow work to continue on the bathroom. No work was notifiably completed by her contracted plumber for thirty days.  As work continued on the bathroom, I further ran into issues of a subcontractor who stated they had knowledge of tiling ,which was an effort on my end to expedite the process of the repairs requested. When work was resumed by myself and other sub contractors, we completed the first set of tiles on the back wall with minimal issues. The issues of tile that did arise was in fact that despite following the proper measures and procedures to cut tile, place tile, ect the sub contractor who was hired initially seemed to fail at the work being performed. I did notify mrs. [redacted] as to the potential issue and removed the tile and cleaned it as to allow the reusage of the materials provided by the customer. When another sub contractor who is knowledgable as well as myself of the proper methods and techniques to properly apply the tile to walls as requested by mrs. [redacted] (she requested the tile be placed directly on the dry wall despite the recommended use of backerboard used to properly waterproof the walls behind tiles) started the task of reapplying the tiles properly there was a noticed slant from the back corner of the all to the front. We continued to tile per request and advised her that we would have a individual who specialized in foundation repair at no charge to herself to come out and inspect the foundation. Mrs. [redacted] stated that she would worry about the foundation and continue tiling when things were inspected for the sale of the house. I advised her that due to the foundation having seemed to visibly settled that it would prevent a successful product being completed and which I refused to allow the company name to be labeled onto faulty and less then proper work performed. I advised her to have the foundation repaired so that work could be continued properly. The backdoor she specified needing repaired would have the issue of not being able to latch would have been resolved in the event of proper foundation repair. The area of the garage that she specifed in I notifed her that the repair was not critical and all it would require was a cosmetic piece of vynl being cut down to size and restapled to the board on the garage. It was stated to not worry about the garage area then by mrs. [redacted]. The allegations of a facebook speciifying herself is duly false as when any posts are made per the page under the company name. Any posts related to what occurs on a daily basis or personal opinions of work performed on my personal page is stated only as they are my personal opinion and have no specifics of names mentioned or addresses of any individual to protect privacy. The same is applied via the company page, personal details of client information, address, or distinguishing factors to identify a specific customer is not present on the page to allow for privacy. Seeing as Mrs. [redacted] is not a "friend" on my personal page would require her to search exhaustively for my page and to even go so far as to scroll upon the timeline very extensively considering the majority of posts made on my private page are shared from others who I liked their shared posts. The accussation that my girlfriend hung up on her is something I cannot defend nor agree to because I was not physically present to witness the interaction. When Mrs. [redacted] contacted the local police department (copperas cove police department) with the request that the keys to the property were returned, I notified the calling officer that the keys were no longer in my possession. This converstaion was held on September 16, 2016 at 915pm. The request that half a her deposit be returned she was politely notifed that all deposits are non refundable in the event that work has been performed and materials have been purchased outside what was provided in order to start and complete a work request that Veteran General Labor Services has been contracted for. It is also stated in a contract, no contract other then a hand written contract stating she hired my services for the services requested, and the total amount as well as she provided a deposit of $450, between all clients that for any reason at any time either the customer or the the company may cancel the contract for any reason. The company operates as a DBA and is registered only as a sole proprietership with the IRS and with the bank that the company holds an account with for business transactions is registered as well as a DBA and sole proprietorship. The contract was terminated by Mrs. [redacted] due to the company not continuing work on the bathroom due to the inablility to properly complete a job from advice given by the company and the refusal to allow a situation arise that may come and reflect negativiely on the company in the respect that in the even that work was continued as requested the end result may have been resulted in damage to the property at a later time. At this time all work as Veteran General Labor Services has been concluded under agreement and understanding that Mrs. [redacted] fired the company despite advice given to insure the proper service to be rendered. It also is felt at this point in time that since Mrs. [redacted] did not recieve the desired effect from first contacting myself then further escalation thru the local police department that she will continue to attempt to escalate as she deems fit. It is also deemed at this time that the company is not going to refund a partial deposit or replace a product that was used in accordance to the customers request.   [redacted]
