Ms*** came to the VFW on *** 22nd, and entered into a banquet hall contract when she rented the VFW hall for a
party on September 20th, Ms*** then returned in person to the VFW a week later on Saturday, May 31st to speak with a bartender about canceling her hall rentalThe bartender informed Ms*** that in her contact under the terms and conditions page, line number states that if you would like to cancel your event, you must provide us with written notice days in advance and a 100% refund will be mailed to youIf your original deposit was made with a credit card or check a 5% fee will be deducted from your refund per charges and feesMs*** signed and initialed these terms and conditions upon entering the hall rental contractMs*** then became extremely aggravated at the bartender, raising her voice and demanding we cancel her contract and that she wanted her money back today, right nowThe bartender then reiterated that in order to get her deposit back she would have to send in a written request with the intention that she wanted to cancel the contractVerbal requests are not accepted per contract policiesMs*** then responded with more aggression and disrespect to the bartender on dutyShe threatened to call the police, she stated she was going to call the Mayor and get a lawyer and a few other unnecessary threatsThe bartender showed Ms*** the contract that she signed and agreed to and reiterated the rules on canceling the contractAfter a few more words from Ms***, the bartender asked her to leave the premises as there was nothing else the bartender could do at this pointMs*** then called in on the following Sunday and Monday demanding that the bartender on duty cancel her contract and she wanted her money back nowThis bartender, again, explained to her our policy of cancelling an event at the VFW per contract policiesOn Tuesday, June 2nd I received an overnight certified letter from Ms*** with her intentions to cancel the contractUnder our terms and conditions in the contract line number 4; any security/damage deposits put down by you will be refunded to the person signing the contract at the address listed unless specific instructions are made to refund otherwiseRefunds will be made within 14-business days of your event, depending on the method of payment for your eventOn June 9th, 2014, seven days after I received the cancellation letter and three days prior to receiving the complaint to the Revdex.com, I issued a check for the full deposit, minus the 5% fee from the total deposit made on the credit card per contract policiesWith the deposit was a letter explaining to Ms*** that included in the envelope was a check for her deposit minus the feeThe letter was post marked on the 10th of June to the address that was listed on the contract that Ms*** filled out and signedOn June 14th, the VFW received the deposit and letter sent to Ms*** with a "Return to Sender" notice stating, "Insufficient Address, Unable to Forward"After receiving the letter back, several attempts were made by phone and mail to contact Ms*** to no availAs of today June 30th, we still have all contract paperwork at the VFW, as well as the returned letter with the full deposit refund, minus the fee, and we are still unable to reach Ms***This situation was handled no differently than any other hall rentals that we have successfully completed each yearThe VFW will continue to conduct business in a professional manner and in accordance to the guide lines set in our contract and is agreed to and signed by every customer that rents our hallWe pride ourselves in our continued service to our Veterans and the community in which our Post residesWe look forward to continuing to rent out our banquet hall for events and hope that this situation will be resolved quickly and efficiently

Because none if this happened they are some liars and I still live at the address in Naperville, is it possible I can have someone else pick up my money...I will NEVER do business with this organization and I will make sure others don't either!!
And they haven't called me, they have my number and my address from the certified letter I sent

Mrs*** contacted the VFW and stated that she would come and pick up her return that was sent back to the VFWSeveral days after the rebuttal, her son came to the post to pick up the checkThe issue has been resolved
