I just received this complaint regarding a physician in my office. Customer: *** *** Complaint Involves: Billing or Collection Issues I understand that his wife was seen by one of my physicians for her routine annual exam and were billed an extra visit charge. I understand that most patient are not aware that if they have multiple issues needing to be addressed there could be an extra charge. After getting a call from the patients husband I contacted our billing office to see if it was necessary to charge the patient an extra visit chargeBilling office advised me that due to the multiple problems that we addressed during the visit the charge was correct. Ultra sound was performed on patient as well as a urogyne referral due to her current problems. I did call the husband to explain why there was an additional charge. We can’t write off a patient balance once it is submitted to insurance that would be fraudulent. I would hope that the husband would understand that this was more than an annual visit. He only did the job to help out his sonMr*** said he tried to unclog the sink pipes but hit a "T", and had to stopHe removed the sink and tried to refit rubber to the old pipes but it didn't workHe did not put old tub back because customer wanted a new tubHe put in a lot of time, and
during a holiday, that he did not charge customer for, and customer has not paid in full for the job
