Veterinary Medical Center Of Long Island Reviews (3)

On January 8th , I brought my dog as an emergency into Veterinary Medical Center Of Long Island in West Islip at around 7:pm they took My Girl back for testing and told me they wanted to run a bunch of tests to see what the issue was but before doing that they wanted my care credit card immediately to ensure payment and made up a whole list of things ranging anywhere from $2,to $2527.00and forceably had me sign that receipt before even finding out what was wrong first but of course I signed under distress because I wanted to know what was wrong with my babySo later on the vet Er Drwho didn't even have a business card DrHein stated that my dog had fluid around her heart and when I asked to see the sonogram pictures she said I cant show u pictures besides unless you are a Dryou wouldn't know what you were looking at, which I thought was pretty rude, coming from whats suppose to be someone that is suppose to try and save your animal's life and who's compassionate which the entire office I felt was not compassionate at all, it was all about the moneySo she stated she could remove the fluid around her heart and she mentioned she had fluid in her stomach also, so after a couple of hours they did the procedure and got all the fluid out of the heart and she looked so much better and I asked bout the fluid in the stomach she said that would dissipate on its own,and that it wasn't urine or blood which was a good thing, she led me to believe my dog was going to be ok but wanted my dog to stay overnight so that she can see a cardiologist there the next morning at 9:am and I was to meet him there to have an echocardiogram done to see why she had fluid around her heart so I agreed but wanted to stay the night with her they told me absolutely not they will not allow that, they let me visit with my dog for about minutes and my dog was fine so much better than when she came in, she just wanted to come home as she kept walking towards the entrance out, but I trusted them and let her stay overnight so the cardiologist could look at her on Sept 9th, the echo- cardiogram came back fine there were no masses on the heart he said they did a blood test on all her organs and said all her organs were perfectly fine then of course handed me another bill with the amounts that were between $2,to $2,at the most and made sign, then minutes later they come out and tell me they did an x-ray on her and saw something on her spleen which they had just told me all her organs were okay, so that day on the 9th of January my dog was back to herself still even after being there overnight and just wanted to go home , so then the cardiologist looked at the xray and sonograms that were done and then the story changed he said she had several masses on her spleen that were most likely cancerous and we think its best to put your dog to sleep or you can do further testing of course to get more money again to see about removing the spleen then maybe chemo but he stated basically it wouldn't be worth it on a year old dog most likely, I was under severe distress because he basically just told me my dog my life, she was my everything that I had and all I had and she was the love of my life , my child , my baby had to be put to sleep just like that, they put us in a room and me and my mom spent bout three hours with my baby and by all the pictures I took that day you can see she was fine and I kept asking questions saying I don't understand she's acting fine, I want to see where these masses on the xray that you state are present but my questions went unanswered and I felt completely distressed and heartbroken and was crying my eyes out when they came in as I was sitting on the floor with my dog and actually shoved another receipt and statement on the floor for me to sign to put my dog to sleep, me and my mom were utterly heartbroken and felt forced that this was a humane thing to do for my dog, I feel like if I would have left there with my dog that my dog would have still been alive today, this haunts me everyday, my heart aches every day, I am severely depressed over this whole situation and how heartless these people who work for this facility are and I have also since read nightmare stories about the same thing happening to other people dogs at the same place where they spend thousands of dollars also trying to save their dogs lives but ended up heartbroken and broke and leaving the hospital without their beloved dogs In my case the final amount was $2,and I ended up walking out without my precious baby and will never see her beautiful face again, I am devastated ,angry , heartbroken and lost without her and feel terrible also for millions of people that had this same experience with this facility and I just wish I would have known how heartless and money hungry these people were because I would have never brought my baby there :((((

JUSTICE FOR TRIXIE AND ALL PETS .their VMCLI stupidity caused my cat and my family severe pain and suffering and then a PAINFUL DEATHi have questions and they won't return my phone calls , my cat was brought in on Christmas Eve sent home after being hydrated, with no paperwork ,finding out the NEXT day, my cat was freezing cold she was completely hyperthermic , she proceeded to go down hill the whole night they did not give us any paperwork, oh but they said got a pill in her throat for appetite ? That decision to not take my cats temperature cost her her life the following day, and to go onto the next stage of hypothermia, neurological issues, just by touch my cat was ice cold, they didn't give us the discharge papers which said they did nothing at all to my cat , we didn't receive the discharge papers till five days later in the regular snail mail , it said we denied bloodwork which we were never even asked about and gave instructions on what to do when we came home, and also told us that they did nothing to my cat during the exam But it was too late by the time we got the papers my cat was dead , we had to bring her back on Christmas Day because she had gotten so much worse over the night ,they picked up on the hypothermia the following day It was too late my cat was too far gone , I still did not know that they did nothing to my cat the day before because I had no paperwork , ,on Christmas Day more nonsense took place when we brought her back in , they tell me that they were going to take blood work we were having her admitted , sit down they told us, then they came out and said to go home and they call us in an hour , hours passed and we just went back in , omg my cat was in a cage pretty much in a coma , she wasnt moving not even a blink, I started crying omg I think my cats dead, they looked at me with eyes till someone came and just checked her heart,,girls at the desk told me the DR did not understand the cats bloodwork , yet the lousy vet tech tells me the girls are not allowed to speak about the blood work , well they did, and they told me they did not understand it, the dr.didnt, When they took me back to my cat she was half dead she would've never made it through another night, she was completely hyperthermic and unresponsive, I have the pictures it was HORRIBLE, they also werent monitoring her becasue she was COLD as ice, through Christmas Eve their terrible care harmed my poor little Miss Pix my cat and when I call to ask them questions why I didn't get my discharge papers etcthey never call me back I have been hysterical crying day after day and they never ever call back , I have left enough messages to know they are just ignoring me,,how inscincere does it get? these people do not give a dam about your pet,the vet techs think that they are doctors they talk down to patients this is the most unprofessional pathetic place I have seen, I made the decision to put her down becasue the next stage is seizure, she would NOT have made it through the night, where they ever going to call us to tell us she went down hill worse??? OMG they are sick to leave an animal like that I asked for a sedative first so she would feel no pain , but she SCREAMED, I asked the dr why and the answer was so stupid , my husband and I looked at each other in HORROR, poor cat went throiugh he** and back!!!what a *** show.....on Christmas Day a mngr did speak to Me and returned my original emergency room fee because they did not take my cats temperature during her visitI still had not received my original paperwork I still did not know that nothing was done on my cat,if I had these papers I would have turned the car around and said we are going backthey let her go home with hypothermia, had to be put down she had no chance, IF ishe had been warmed up on Christmas eve when I bought her IN FIRST and they took her temp they could have heated her ,and then she would have come out of it and the next morning we could've assessed if it was a brain tumor, or treatable hypothalmus surgery, what was going on with her but they never gave her a chance they sent her home to FREEZE in her body and suffer in front of usWe have been calling the hospital since before New Year's to get answers since we finally received the discharge papers, saw nothing was done that day, and put it all together, which is hard to do while grieveing, and not one person has the respect to call back Not one of the management chain .I went on their site and left a message for every manager they have by phone,,, The woman promised if I had any questions to call back, I had no clue when I spoke to then earlier that they did NOTHING on her exam, I didnt have the discharge papers to see this and it was NOT discussed with us, and she's blatantly been ignoring me I have done plenty of follow up work and I have been finding out that this is been a big problem in this hospital , dont go here

They are horrible they will allow your pet to die unless you pay firstThis is a 24hour facility I was out of state and sent my son there, I explained I am on my way and will be there by 8pm the latest and will pay in cashThey said no treatment unless you pay firstThey are all about the moneyI wish that I was clear headed before I went there because I would normally would have read the reviews firstBut I was so upset and concerned for my pet I didn't do it firstWhatever you do don't go to this place, they only care about moneyI know I will be contacting a lawyer and the mediaYou pay $just for them to look at your dogI look forward to getting justice for everyone on here who has had bad or similar experiences as I haveUpdate on my baby...I took him to my vet first thing in the morning and he was to far gone and had to be put down because of themNot to mention everything they wanted to do and recommended was no where close to what was wrong with himStay away from them they are horrible
