Had my 2014 case sv300 serviced in july 2019 after picking machine up and used for 10minutes it burned up was total loss. my insurance had to cover machine but I am still out $1000. deductable a new set of tires and a $3500.00 demolition door. the mechanic and service manager have both lied to 2 fire marshalls and now they still want me to pay a $783.49 repair bill. I have sent check for repair bill and closed my account. I have heard many stories of customers getting ripped off by this company just want my opinion heard.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment at least refund the $783.49 bill

My wife was with me all 3 times we were at Vetters in Denison iowa and I asked Travis in service to power wash area of oil leak for them to determine source of leak. 1st when I dropped machine off. 2nd when we waited for hours 3days later for tires to be mounted. 3rd. when I picked machine up and asked why engine had not been washed quote Travis we didnt have time. It was very clear to both fire marshals from my and there insurance that vetters dropped to ball on finding oil leak. My insurance company. Unfortunately I have no proof or recordings of my conversations with Vetters service manager Travis. I will no longer pursue this case as all the evidence and witnesses ( my self, my wife, fire marshals
, woodbine fire department) can not overcome lies.

Contacted *** in 2016 for some minor repairs. I purchased the parts and tried to do some of the repairs but I could not figure it out. I was assured from the business that they had people who could work on the age of my tractor and they were confident they would have it running properly. (Have emails to prove this)
Got the tractor back, used it only for a few hours. Eventually put on a new exhaust and did an oil change when I discovered piston pieces in the oil. Contacted *** again and they said there was engine damaged cause by the governor being set too high. *** installed the governor parts. It took 8 months to "fix" the tractor after it was sent back multiple times for not being fixed properly. Another employee at *** noticed all the issues and did not feel comfortable sending the tractor back to me in a poor condition. When I attempted to talk to them again about the tractor the employee told me they couldn't talk to me on the tractor anymore and I had to talk to someone else. *** also promised it would be running perfectly and on time when I had an excavator rental out there to use with my tractor which didn't happen so a $2000 waste there. $3000 in engine repairs because the business has told me that they don't set and adjust parts they install they just install them. They told me its the factories responsibility to set parts properly which is a way to try and get out of taking responsibility but all mechanic shops set and adjust things properly so there are no issues. Was also told that my tractor was only good for raking hay, however I have dozens of statements stating that this is false and are willing to testify to that. I also have dozens of videos and other information that show that is false.
Product_Or_Service: Ford Tractor

Desired Outcome

Refund Full Refund of the "repairs" as well as the excavator rental cost. A total around $5000.

1st time we seen tractor was April 2016, we hauled into shop because it would not run. tuned up engine with new spark plugs and points. Installed an oil pressure gauge as it was missing. we never changed governor on engine or made any adjustments or provided any parts. next time we seen tractor was April 2017, tractor had an engine noise. Was noted by technician that engine would run excessive RPM's. we found crankshaft bearing to be bad and advised customer that a tractor (1950"s 8n ford) was not really worth a new engine and labor required to change it. customer decide in June of 2017 that they wanted an engine. we ordered a engine from a reputable engine builder. we had to send the engine from tractor to new York to be rebuilt as they were out of that style of engines. we received engine and installed it in august of 2017. after that we had 2 0r 3 calls out to tractor from customer that it would not run or was low on power. we made those trips at our own expense. we would drain water from gasoline sediment bowl and it would run. customer still complained of low power, so we hauled into shop, cleaned gasoline sediment bowl, drained gasoline tank, installed fresh fuel. engine run normal for a 23 horsepower engine. Tractor set on our lot until customer made contact in December to us. We video taped tractor running and delivered back to customer.

When the business saw the tractor for the first time I provided all the parts for a 12v kit, the governor, and let them know that the distributer top was new but I wasnt able to figure out how to set the points. Also let them know that I wasnt able to figure out the 12v kit fully so I gave up and let them do everything.

The tractors high rpm was the exact same when it left their shop the first time as it was when the tractor got to their shop for the engine rebuild. That is when I was told that the governor was set too high and caused the engine failure.

I was very patient with the business for the longest time but after it being returned multiple times with the same issues coming up, that is when I started to complain and confront them about their services.

I was told in writing that they are confident they could work on a tractor of my age and they have older technicians with that knowledge.

I contact *** during the summer to ask him if the tractor would be ready for me to use it with an excavator to haul a small dump trailer and he assured me it would be and that I could go ahead and set up my rental. I called in a week prior to the rental drop off and he said it was running great and it would be there on that friday. I arrive to the property that saturday and there is no tractor. I called the shop and talked to a person I believe was *** and he didnt know anything about the delivery and would check on it. I got a call back stating a list of issues and he couldnt deliver it because he didnt want to drop off a broken tractor to a customer. I called in on monday and *** said he would look into it. I got a call again saying it was good to go and was gunna be dropped off. The tractor was dropped off with the issues not fixed. Would barely stay running with the throttle held fully open and we have to eventually jump to start it because the charging system was not working. Everything *** had stated. *** awnt out a technician who spent about 5 minutes with the tractor and said it was fine and left, which the tractor was not fine.

So the tractor had to go back and the $2000 rental was a waste.

I didnt hear back from them for weeks because I had to contact them about it and I was done being patient and started to confront them about their failures, all while not raising my voice, cursing, or threatning. Contacted the owner of *** which he did not care about the situation and told me "why is this my problem". He also told me these tractors are junk and have barely enough power to rake hay and he has moe experience than me so he knows more.

I had brought the issues to the shop manager and all I was told is that I would not be allowed to do business with *** equipment anymore, and he also stated that they dont adjust anything there, they just install the parts and its on the manufacturer to make sure the parts are set right before installation. I was also told by him that ford 8n parts are hard to find.

There are over a dozen pages that can be found right away on google listing off hundreds of new parts for these tractors. I have statements from hundreds of people showing off what their 8n does such as plowing, brush mowing, backhoe usage, heavy snow removal, stock tractor pulls and so on. I was also given information from others that there were dozens of implements made for these tractors and how their family used these tractors to farm dozens if not hundreds of acres. There are also dozens of videos on youtube of these tractors working. So the statement from the owner stating they can barely rake hay is false.

I also have talked to some tractor mechanics and well as car mechanics after this incident about if they adjust and set parts after being installed. They informed me that they do because every machine is different and you have to adjust things properly for the machine to run correctly. I let them know what *** told me about what they do with parts and they told me that was either lies from them to scapegoat out of taking responsibility or they are very poor mechanics who dont know what they are doing.

During this 8 month process I rarely got a call from the shop. I had to keep calling in to ask about the status of the tractor. A normal well running shop contacts their customers on any issues found and when things get done or when things are going to be delayed. I barely got that from ***, it sat there for months without them saying anything. And the last set of weeks that it sat in the shop is because I was trying to work with the business directly on this issue but they did not want to take responsibility for their actions and essentially was placing the blame on me and others.

So I have in writing that they are confident they can work on my tractor and they have techicians for it and can also provide a list of parts given to them the first time around. The only thing I wanted out off all of this was a refund on the tractor bill ($3000) and the cost of the wasted rental ($2000), after that I would have split ways with *** and we could have avoided all of this. Instead this is being drug out longer than it should be and I had to contact the Revdex.com about this which puts a negative rating/review on their record if im not satisfied with the outcome of this. Which means all of these issues will be open to the public to see as well which wont be good advertising for their business.

I also had to buy a new fuel bowl assembly when I got the tractor back because when the tractor was returned the glass bowl was shattered as it was tightened down to much by them and it drained a full tank of fuel I had with the tractor when it first went into them. I am also sending it to another shop this week to make sure the tractor is set right and to fix the charging system as *** never fix that issue when the put the tractor back together. So now im paying for more repair bills on the tractor because they are unable to do their jobs properly and professionally.

So all I am wanting is a full refund of both the tractor bill and the rental bill and get this issue over with so I can move on.

Company has failed to contact myself as they claimed in their last Revdex.com complaint case to discuss this issue. Business has also lied about machine capabilities, mechanic abilities, service abilities, and refund.I attempted to work with the business directly on receiving a full refund as well as compensation on this entire issue however they prefer to attempt to scapegoat out of the entire issue by telling me I am no longer allowed to do business with them and refuse to contact me.This whole issue could have been avoided if they would just own up to their mistakes and work on making things right with a customer to continue business with and hope that the customer promotes their business and services.I have written statements from dozens of individuals with the same tractor who have stated its working capability, videos of its capability, and statements from the company on their confidence of their ability to perform maintenance and repairs on the tractor and then after the complaint was filed they are claiming they don't have experience or the ability to work on these tractors.I also have statements on parts purchased and what *** Equipment installed. Which failing to adjust and tune the parts installed to ensure the tractor is running properly is what caused the engine failure of the tractor which is what their employee stated. So I just want this whole issue to be over with so I can put it to rest. So a full refund of the failed service performed ($3000+) would be sufficient and I will even forget about the $2000 compensation costs due to a failed rental on *** Equipment"s part that was spent.Tractor was not put together properly and has been scheduled to be sent to another repair shop due to their failure to do things properly.
Product_Or_Service: 1952 Ford 8N Tractor

DESIRED RESOLUTION::DesiredSettlementID: Refund
As stated above. A full refund of the $3000+ failed repair bill. Willing to forgive the $2000 compensation that *** should owe me because of their failures of doing things properly and on time.
