I, *** received a message from *** *** about warranty work and in the message he had said something was wrong with the latchThe warranty expired on 5/2/The warranty starts from the date the contract is signedWe stained the fence for freeThere was no warranty on the staining.
Also, I've used the same stain for over years and never had an issueAfter explaining everything to *** *** he calls, text, and emails about wanting free stain which we do not offer anymore*** *** said if we did not do the free stain he would write a bad review and put a complaint inThe actual total of the contract was for $1,and not the $1,he put in his complaintI will email copies of the original contract with both of our signatures*** *** is trying to extort a free stain job from Vez Corporation

fall short of the property line. Vez Corporation did place the corner post on the property line in question. Vez Corporation did close the gap for Mr. [redacted] at no charge. The pickets in question where he claims are high there use to be a board for a flower bed which I let my customer know I was going to be removing it due to it being rotted and if he wanted to put another one he could. This gap is about 2 to 3 inches and the rotted board was in the way of placing the pickets properly. Mr. [redacted] did not sign contract with Vez Corporation and so there is no warranty work to conduct for Mr. Spalding. To get his corner post he is requesting, Mr [redacted] needs to contact the company that failed to place the proper size post in the proper location to get his fence corrected. The customer whom we do have the signed contract with has no complaints or hasn't requested any warranty work as of today.

The warranty of our contacts starts the date of when it is sighed.  Materials are purchased with the deposit which the lumber sits outside in the lumber yard until we are able to start the project and finish it.  We do not offer free stain jobs and if we did we would not be a business for profit. We did offer one free stain job to [redacted] for the delay on his project due to the constant rain last year. [redacted] received his free stain and I don't see why he should get another one when we are in business for profit since we are a privately owned business.  Also since we are privately owned we have the right to refuse service to anyone.

I am rejecting this response because:[redacted], thanks for getting back to me through the Revdex.com. I appreciate the correction on the price of the fence. That was a typo on my part. I meant to type $1199.49, which was the final cost after tax. I attached the both pages of the signed document for the day the fence was completed and paid in full (has this price listed on it). This was on 6-17-15. To be thorough, I wanted to address each of the points in your reply that I deem may need clarification. The first conflict I see is that there is a disagreement between us on when the year for the warranty started. You are using the 5/2/15 date for when you came to our house to give us the estimate (i have a copy of this as well). However, I am using the 6/17/15 start date, from the signed contract I have a copy of with your signature (please note that this is the date the fence was installed prior to the staining being applied). When I first reached out to you about the latch, I sent you a copy of this through text on 6/10/16 (I can send screen shots of these texts if you would like to refer to them, but because I can only attach four documents, I did not include them in this reply). So, the issue that needs to be resolved here is when the warranty ends, which was 6/17/16. This would put the part that needed replaced under warranty prior to the deadline.The next point you made that needs to be addressed is that you are stating that I am "trying to extort a free stain job from Vez Corp." It is untrue that I am trying to extort anything from you. When the fence was finished being stained towards the beginning of September, you gave us a verbal agreement that you would come back in a year to restain the fence. The reason you said this was because it took your company almost three full months to stain the fence. In retrospect, I do realize I should have had you put this in writing and apply a signature to it, but that did not happen. The reason this did not happen was because you said you were going to email me a document that would allow for this to happen. I was hoping you would have sent it, and unfortunately I did not follow up with you prior to this. However, I would expect that you would have held true to your word and followed through with this verbal agreement. To follow this up, you mentioned in your reply that Vez Corp did not put in a free stain, I would write bad reviews and put in a complaint. I did however say""Hi there this is Cody again. I just left another voice message and I am not sure of why you are not returning my phone calls or my text messages and I will assume you no longer want to keep your end of the agreement for the one year warranty. In that case in order to ensure that my fence is repaired per that warrantee I will file a complaint with the Revdex.com. Please text or call back by the end of the day today."I sent this after not receiving any calls, texts, or emails back. I reached out to you through different means and at different times, but there was only the one reply on 6/10. Other than this, there was no type of contact from you until you received my complaint form the Revdex.com. Now that I have addressed those points you made, I would like to get on to what should happen.1) I had to go out and buy a new latch from Lowes, because it has been almost two weeks and we were keeping our gate closed with a bungee cord. Vez Corp needs to reimburse me the $12.99 (plus tax) for this latch.2) Vez corp needs to come out and apply the second stain to the fence per the verbal agreement we made in September of 2015 OR Vez Corp needs to compensate me to purchase stain so that I can do it on my own. $50 would be appropriate for this and less than what I would spend on getting the supplies to do the job. The fence is in need of being stained. I know you said that in 10 years you have not had a complaint and that this is supposed to last 3-5 years, but in the last snow storm in May, we saw stain coming off the fence with the snow, dying the snow around the base of the fence. Also, we are already seeing weathering where some areas of the fence are graying. Please refer to the two pictures I attached, one from February and one from today. You will see that it is the same section of fence, and in just four months, it has lost its color.With those two items being laid out, I would like to say that all I was hoping for was for you to contact me and discuss this. I feel disrespected as a customer that you refrained from contacting me after I contacted you. I was hoping for a higher level of professionalism, especially since that was the first experience we had with you when you came to give an estimate on our fence. You had a great opportunity to keep a customer and I hope you still do by working with me to resolve these issues.
