The new roof installed on the *** residence was done as per contract using 6' of ice and water shield underneath the shingles, double thickness in the valleys and all the necessary flashings.The couple issues regarding flashing work were addressed and taken care of as was the misunderstanding
regarding the window which was installed.The issue now is not due to improper installation but the extreme weather conditions in our area this year, causing ice build-ups for several people.Note on the attached pictures where the ice has built up and infiltrated the soffit along their bedroom wall, fascia trim, etc. Fortunately, it is not over an entryway.The customer called early February to have our company check out a leak. Upon inspection we found it to be due to an ice build up.We charge for ice and snow removal as I told the customer explaining that this was an act of nature.If any problems were found after that it would be warranty work

As previously stated, we can remove the ice and snow at a charge to the customer.When weather permits and the roof is clear of ice and snow, we would be more than happy to meet with the customer and go over any warranty issues they have and schedule a time to take care of them

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.During the construction of the roof, my husband found numerous examples of incomplete or shoddy work, including j channel left uninstalled and improperly fastened flashingHe also caught two workers talking about covering up a soft spot in the roof instead of replacing the board and walked outside and made them replace itThis is what he just happened to catch them doing when he was homeHe was not there dueing the entire construction process and it is reasonable to assume he did not catch all of their improper actsWhen we called the roofers to complain about the current problem, they immediately denied responsibility over the phone without ever investigating the damageThey only came to our house after we insistedThis is a completely unacceptable condition for a new roofWe have lived through many bad winters and never had these problems, even without an older roofThis company just refuses to honor a one-year installation warranty or act in good faith with customers.

In response to Mr*** complaint: When Mr*** called regarding nails "all over" we sent a man to his residence (the job site). Upon arrival our men picked up nails with the magnet going all around the house. The customer said he had nails in his truck tire and SUV (jeep)
tireOur man asked to see the tires and was only shown the one in the SUV tire which was not on the side wall. No nail was found in the other vehicle tireMr*** mentioned getting a plug kit for the SUV one and our man offered to go and purchase oneMr*** responded saying, no biggy, it will give me something to do. Our policy is to only pay for a plug/repair and not a whole tire unless we have seen evidence of the tire being un-repairable

This is what he just happened to catch them doing when he was home. He was not there dueing the entire construction process and it is reasonable to assume he did not catch all of their improper acts. When we called the roofers to complain about the current problem, they immediately denied responsibility over the phone without ever investigating the damage. They only came to our house after we insisted. This is a completely unacceptable condition for a new roof. We have lived through many bad winters and never had these problems, even without an older roof. This company just refuses to honor a one-year installation warranty or act in good faith with customers.

To Whom It May Concern:
I arrived at the [redacted] residence to offer a quote on a wind damaged roof repair. While talking to [redacted] and her husband, I explained that we were about two weeks to a month out from doing the work. Also, upon meeting, I wanted to take the only shingle they had to...

match up the color. [redacted], [redacted]'s husband, would not let me take the sample shingle to match the color as close as possible. I sent a quote/contract to them and within 3 out of 5 days we started getting calls from this customer to hurry up and get the roof fixed as it had started leaking. So, under pressure from the customer, we pressed over to fix the leaking roof before the next rain. The customer paid and signed the work order. We prevented additional interior damage without time to get proper shingle color. Customer insisted needed the leak fixed regardless of color.

We do not dispute that the ice built up, but that the new roof, under warranty, did not prevent it from leaking into the house and that the roofer's only response is to continually ask us for more money.
