one of our busiest weeks of the yearI don't know if you took time to feed any of our sharks, stingrays, sea turtle, or alligatorsWith record guest this week we do feed a lot of food and it does tend to make more waste in the waterWe were also changing our four large filters from sand to glass bead filtration systemThis is one of the newer technology in filtration systemsWe are not federally funded so we have to make these changes in the summertime when we have the staff and funds to do soAs far as the alligators, the larger gators which I think is what *** is speaking of these are rescue animals which were to be euthanized had we not taken themAlligators even in the wild do not normally tend to roam large territories they are ambush predators so they sit and wait for food to come to themthese two are a bonded pair they have a large pool to swim in and and a land area to bask inThey eat on a regular schedule which seems better than what their alternative would have beenWe do have some artificial plant life in our habitats, just like in the wild animals have a tendency to tare up real plants which is very expensive to replace everyday, but we do have real plants in the exhibits that it is safe to do soRegardless the animals don't really care if they are real or not most of the time it is for the benefit of observerThe habitats which you speak of with plexi glass, some of our experience here are hands on exhibits so the habitats are easier for our staff to get in and retrieve the animal so our guest can pet and learn more about that particular animalI wished that *** would have asked to speak to a manager she would have learned we are currently moving the porcupines, kangaroo at the ended of the month to one our new facilities being build located a few miles a wayAs far as the Wolves these animals are worked with daily with a staff memberEvery morning they get there pen cleaned and inspected and they are actually hand fed dailythe wolves will also be moving to our other facility at the end of the year again we are not federally funded so we have to save and build funds and use when they become available to usas far as the fly issue they have been bad this year we can not use just any preventive or eliminator we have fish tanks and insects we have to think aboutWe do use alternative methods like essential oils and natural traps to help outI do know even the restaurants in branson have had trouble as wellAs far as the staff being rude and uneducated I do apologize the staff works very hard and long hours for the animals if anyone came off rude to you, for example it would be like someone insulting you on how you raise your children they take it very personal, we have come a long way from when the facility first opened, and still has a long way to goI know *** thinks these animals would be in a better situation to be rehomed but that is not an option every staff member does not work with every animal, but there is a staff member that works with every animalWe have not been around (as a business) as long as all of the facilities that we normally get compared to, but we are constantly making improvements and to someone who has never been through before it looks different than how it really isThat is why we have a business, because of our first time customers who come back and see that we are making improvements every time they come backI would like *** to come back next year and see what improvements we have made and to see the animals in new and upgraded habitats
